Job Description

As an Office Automation Developer at Skydance Animation, you'll design tools and propose solutions to enhance efficiency in Microsoft Office for production and other departments. Responsibilities include reviewing, optimizing, and debugging existing code; developing database structures; connecting data across sources; creating automation solutions using VBA and/or Office Script; optimizing scripts for cross-platform use; troubleshooting issues; and keeping up with technology trends. You'll collaborate with team members and follow the guidance of supervisors and leads. The role requires strong VBA and Office Script skills, advanced Excel knowledge, and experience with large-scale data management. The ideal candidate will also possess knowledge of .NET, SQL Server, and REST APIs.

Must have:

3-5 years of professional experience
VBA and/or Office Script proficiency
Advanced Excel and Office knowledge
Large-scale data management experience
Problem-solving and debugging skills

Good to have:

.NET and SQL Server knowledge
REST API interaction experience
Spanish language skills

As an office automation developer, you will be helping our production teams (and other departments when needed) by designing tools and proposing solutions to improve our efficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Reviews, optimizes and debugs existing codes.
Participates in designing tools and proposes optimizations and solutions for efficiencies.
Develops database structures, views, stored procedures, functions and triggers.
Collects and connects data across databases and information sources.
Develops tools and automation solutions using VBA and/or Office Script.
Optimizes scripts for cross-platform use (Mac/Windows).
Identifies and resolves bugs for day-to-day use and large-scale implementation.
Troubleshoots issues and proposes fixes when required.
Keeps up on current artistic methodologies and on technology trends and tools that best suit the production and the company in the development of a stronger creative and technical environment.
Collaborates with other team members, when necessary.
Follows the Supervisor’s and Lead´s guidance.

Requirements

3-5 years of professional experience.
Proven experience in building tools with VBA and/or Office Script.
Advanced knowledge of Excel and Office.
Experience with large-scale data management with multiple inputs/outputs.
Knowledge of .NET and SQL Server a plus. knowledge to interact with REST APIs.
Understand users‘ requirements, seeking clarification when necessary.
Medium-high English level.
Spanish desirable.
