Join our Impersonation Protection and Incident Response Engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer, where you'll play a pivotal role in transforming email security amid escalating cyber threats. You'll be responsible for creating, developing, and debugging escalations, designing and building scalable, resilient systems, conducting code reviews, influencing product design and functionality, detecting underlying issues, keeping abreast of the latest developments in Python, Django and DevOps, cultivating strong collaborative relationships with engineering teams, and more.
Must have:
- 6+ years of Python/Django experience
- Cloud platform expertise (AWS)
- Containerized application management
- Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) understanding
Good to have:
- ReactJS and TypeScript knowledge
- Event-driven, distributed system experience
- Cybersecurity experience (email security)
- Security interest and threat response skills

About the team
Join our Impersonation Protection and Incident Response Engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer, where you'll play a pivotal role in transforming email security amid escalating cyber threats. In 2022, half of all organizations fell prey to social engineering attacks, underscoring the critical need for advanced, proactive defenses.
Our team leads the charge with AI-driven technologies that analyze attack patterns, detect anomalies, and evolve defenses in real-time. We continuously refine email security by leveraging AI to learn from behavioral patterns, significantly reducing false positives.
When email-borne threats breach traditional defenses and reach user inboxes, rapid and accurate response is crucial to mitigate damage and prevent further spread. Manual response methods are time-consuming and inefficient, allowing threats to escalate. Our team automates these processes, swiftly identifying attack vectors, eliminating malicious emails, and executing tailored remediation actions with automated workflows customized to meet specific needs.
Our tech stack is robust, centering on Python, Java and Go, supported by PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Redis datastores, orchestrated through containers on AWS. We harness additional services like Kinesis, SQS, and Lambda to scale our systems effectively.

Responsibility
- Create, develop, and debug escalations while considering the impact on interconnected systems.
- Engage in designing and building scalable, resilient systems using Python to support ongoing improvements for product teams.
- Conduct code reviews for colleagues, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
- Influence product design, application functionality, and technical processes through informed decision-making.
- Detect underlying issues and trends within the product and codebase, utilizing these insights to enhance coding standards and system architecture.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in Python, Django and DevOps, and actively suggest innovative approaches to improve our software development processes.
- Cultivate strong collaborative relationships with engineering teams in both India and the US.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience required.
- Minimum of 6 years of hands-on software development experience, specifically in Python and the Django framework.
- In-depth knowledge of Python, Django, and the latest developments in these technologies.
- 3 years of experience in software design and architecture.
- Proven expertise in cloud platforms, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS), including deployment and management.
- Proficient in managing containerized applications, including deployment, scaling, and monitoring.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Preferred qualifications:
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as ReactJS and TypeScript.
- Prior experience with event-driven, distributed systems preferred.
- Experience in cybersecurity, particularly in email security, is advantageous.
- Deep interest in security and adeptness at responding to real-time threats.
