The Retail Sales Manager is based in the Phoenix area and will be responsible for the support of the Funko brand retail store located in Buckeye, Arizona.  This role will lead the store team to deliver exceptional results while providing the highest standard of customer service and “retail-tainment” under the supervision of the Director of Retail Stores. The Manager will assist in maintaining optimal staffing levels, coordinate HR operations, conduct new hire administration and training while sustaining compliance with policies and procedures. 
 
What You’ll Do 
  • Provide guidance in the areas of leadership and team development, organization and associate effectiveness with the Sales Team 
  • Partner with other leaders to recruit, interview, and select qualified candidates in order to build a talent pipeline and train them to achieve current and future business and customer service goals 
  • Impact the business and maximize store profitability by assisting in controlling expenses, protecting company assets, and by ensuring that store standards and processes for operations are consistent and well executed 
  • Drive and maximize sales performance to consistently achieve the overall sales budget objectives while ensuring operational integrity and monitoring monthly profitably 
  • In partnership with the retail leaders, manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking and conducting inventory counts 
  • Monitor assets through accurate inventory management procedures to minimize store losses 
  • Evaluate store in the following key areas - management of team, merchandise, KPIs, FOH/BOH standards, processes, staff proficiency and business strategy 
  • Lead excellent customer service through in-the-moment coaching, role modeling, and utilizing customer feedback to reinforce and improve quality of service 
  • Work to develop Store Supervisor and Lead, holding weekly one on one meetings, continuously strengthen others through consistent coaching and feedback while driving productivity and morale of the team 
  • Always demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance. Lead and hold the team accountable to work in the same way. Cultivate a guest-centric and engaged team 
  • Maintain visual and merchandising standards and ensure store cleanliness 
  • Own and implement exempt and hourly schedules that align to guest and business needs (including weekends, mornings, evenings, overnight, and appropriate seasonal adjustments) and partner with timekeeping according to schedules 
  • Facilitate the alignment and improvement of HR policies, processes and programs in store Handle employee relations issues for store, escalating complex or unique employee relations issues to People & Culture team 
  • Ensure all relevant information is communicated to store teams daily and an open line of communication is fluid with the leadership team. Maintain presence through effective floor management and ensure staff coverage in all areas of the store 
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure ongoing safety training and awareness 
What You’ll Bring
  • 2+ years’ strategic retail leadership experience, preferably in a Flagship or large volume location  
  • Polished professional who understands how to tell a brand story 
  • Experience managing a large team of hourly team members and leaders as well as leaders of leaders 
  • Skills in recruiting, selecting, talent management and talent planning across all departments of the store 
  • Manage conflict and lead and hold others accountable 
  • Experience in collaborating with multiple teams - Executives, Creative, Loss Prevention, Merchandising, etc. 
  • Great verbal and written communication skills; excellent presentation skills 
  • Strategic and focused on the end results 
  • Decisive and collaborates with a team to develop strategies 
  • Has a good understanding of Pop Culture and follows Pop Culture trends 
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) 
  • Consistently demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for the brand 
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays) and regular attendance necessary 
  • This is a customer facing role that requires standing for long amounts of time. 
  • Must frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally pull large pallets of product with a lift truck weighing up to 525 pounds.  
  • Travel less than 10% of time.  
 
Salary Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $67,725 - $72,000 annually.​Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
