Job Description

The Government Engagement team influences the policy and regulatory environment to grow our business and advance Visa’s mission. We are the trusted advisors to governments, clients, and partners. The GE team is passionate about advancing policies that accelerate the growth of electronic payments and Visa’s corporate strategy!

We achieve this in the following ways:

  • Deepen Partnerships: build and strengthen relationship with key partners.
  • Digital Leadership: demonstrate Visa’s thought leadership on emerging payments and digital solutions.
  • Expand Access: promote policies to advance financial inclusion and growth in electronic payments
  • Transform Technology: preserve Visa’s ability to innovate and thrive.
  • Champion Security – illustrate Visa's innovative approach to security within the payment ecosystem.
  • Employer of Choice – act as a brand ambassador to strengthen Visa’s reputation among policymakers.

As a GE intern, some of the things you might support the team with:

  • Collaborate with local GE professionals and industry associations to develop strategies and engagement plans to boost financial inclusion and digital payments.
  • Support partners (issuers, acquirers, fintechs, merchants) in understanding payments regulation, alongside the Government Engagement lead in CISSEE
  • Monitor, analyze and coordinate efforts to mitigate potential regulation that might negatively affect the digital payments industry and Visa business.
  • With the support of the team, proactively identify strategic business issues and opportunities for Visa and its clients.
  • Record and share best practices to promote digital payments.

Qualifications

  • Students pursuing a Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or IT with a graduation date in summer 2026 
  • Be available to pursue a 3-month internship (3 June 2025 to 28 August 2025)
  • Must be available to join a full-time role by June 2026

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, story-telling and presentation skills 
  • Strong PowerPoint and excel skills are desired
  • Superior analytical and financial analysis skills
  • Strong collaboration skills with a diverse peer group required
  • Able to articulate viewpoint effectively to key stakeholders in order to get buy in and agreement
  • Self-confident and hands-on, with the ability to operate in a fast paced and constantly changing work environment
