We are seeking a dedicated Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team! This will be a highly visible role in a fast-paced, high growth green tech company. This role collaborates with business partners, key vendors and tax authorities to ensure payroll execution is timely and accurate. This position will be based remotely in Guadalajara, Mexico.
What You Will Do
Assist with the preparation, submission, and audit of U.S. and Canada payroll data in accordance with semi-monthly deadlines
Update and maintain payroll records for changes in wages, deductions, new hires, terminations, and department/ division transfers
Complete benefit contributions remittances to providers (401k, HSA, FSA)
Research and resolve any data conflicts that impact payroll processing with internal and external team members
Collect and provide reports and other supporting documentation for internal and/or external audit preparation
Support the day-to-day U.S. and Canada payroll operations
Assist Global team with rest of world payroll preparation, submission and audit as needed
Manage new and ending payroll registrations
Assist with month end closing process by creating and recording journal entries in the ERP system
Complete payroll liability and expense reconciliations
Execute key SOX controls within the payroll process consistently
Provide general support of financial operations and perform other related duties as required and assigned
Assist in special projects as assigned by management

Who You Are and What You Will Bring
Bachelor's degree with emphasis in accounting or business, or equivalent experience preferred
5+ years of U.S. payroll experience, processing within a mid-size company
Excellent attention to detail
Knowledge and experience of payroll calculation/processing
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including successful cooperative working relationships within teams and across functions, as well as with external contacts
ADP WorkforceNow experience is required
Strong computer skills with intermediate proficiency or higher in Microsoft Word and Excel
