Meaningful connections are crucial for buyer retention and a primary driver for GMV.</li><li>We focus on bringing surprise and delight to the center of our product experiences. We own the Live Experience, where sellers and users connect in real-time through purchasing, chat, and giveaways. Our latest product, <a class="app-aware-link " target="_blank" href="https://blog.teamwhatnot.com/unitedstates/rewards-club" data-test-app-aware-link="">Rewards Club</a>, further empowers sellers to recognize their most loyal members in unique and engaging ways. </li><li>As a member of our team, you will drive the development of new strategic products, scale our existing experiences, and prototype innovative ideas to shape our roadmap. You will create delightful products incorporating live video, real-time interactions, and dynamic components. Your role will involve creative problem-solving to balance development speed, product impact, and technical excellence. </li></ul>
Team members in this role are required to be within commuting distance of our San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City or Seattle hub. 👋 You Curious about who thrives at Whatnot? As our next Android engineer on Community, you should have 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience in high growth startups, plus: <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience.</li><li>Android expertise in creating fluid, responsive user interfaces and animations in Jetpack Compose. Strong knowledge of Kotlin. Adept at reactive programming, preferably familiar with Kotlin Coroutines and Flows. Fluent in MVI or MVVM development. </li><li>Product Instinct: Excel at translating user needs to effective technical solutions.</li><li>Problem Solving: Thrive in ambiguity and tackle challenging problems with creativity and autonomy.</li><li>Team Leadership: Proactively improve the team environment and foster inclusive, supportive team culture.</li><li>Ownership Mindset: Own projects holistically from inception to production and beyond. You are known for shipping high-quality products and features lightning-fast. </li></ul>
💰Compensation For US-based applicants: $185,000/year to $245,000/year + benefits + equity The salary range may be inclusive of several levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including, level, relevant prior experience, skills and expertise.
