Our client is seeking a dedicated Payroll Tax Specialist to join their team. This role is crucial in managing and preparing all payroll tax reports, ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll tax regulations, excellent analytical skills, and a meticulous attention to detail.
This is a full-time 4-6 month contract opportunity that is hybrid onsite in Costa Mesa, CA.
Payroll Clerk 2 Responsibilities:

Apply for SIT and SUI tax account numbers with agencies

Review quarterly and year-end tax reports

Resolve tax notices from various government agencies

Research open tax items to minimize tax liabilities

Maintain and update records in tax software

Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Payroll Clerk 2 Requirements:
- 2-4 years of experience in payroll tax and payroll tax processin
- Payroll tax experience is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft products (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)

Familiarity with state tax sites

Understanding of tax regulations

Experience with Oracle is a plus, but not required
