Manager, Engineering

What will you work on?

Manage a professional team of Engineer to carry out end to end product development activities - from design development to model tool making, and finally to production start, to ensure product meets design specifications, Quality expectations, achieves cost target and on schedule.

How will you create impact?

• Support and grow our Spin Master’s business of the assigned product line.
• Manage a team of Project Manager and Engineers to carry out all engineering support at vendors on the product development and debug to meet the product specifications and aesthetic requirements.
• Handle the consigned material, and special components sourcing and cost negotiation;
• Assist sourcing, MOQ and cost negotiation on new material.
• Provide technical support and debug as needed.
• Provide support to the internal group on any production output issues and material authorization review.
• Monitor the schedule and on-site support from development start to OBS.
• Provide manufacturing support as needed after Production Start.
• Perform ad hoc assignments as requested.
• Support the VAVA opportunity to hit the company goal.
• Provide engineering support to set up the quality control in mass production to keep the quality standard.

What are your skills and experience?

• Master Degree or Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related discipline;
• Over 10 years’ working experience preferably in toy industry and able to manage project independently, and at least 3+ years at managerial position;
• Multi-national company experience is a must;
• Able to make frequent trips to suppliers as required.
• Keen eyes on design and aesthetics.
• Able to translate company vision into clear strategy, goal and objectives.
• Comfortable to operate in a demanding and fast-paced working environment.
• Strong project management skills with ability to conduct and lead project meeting independently.
• Able to review concept drawings, 3D models and provide engineering inputs to improve product design and/or mitigate potential Quality issues.
• Good understanding of tooling construction, injection molding parameters, decoration methods, and assembly packing processes.
• Basic knowledge of plastic packaging materials in terms of characteristics and types.
• Strong problem-solving skills and familiar with using basic root cause analysis techniques to work out corrective action plan.
• Knowledgeable in the toys industry standards for different countries.
• Excellent communications skills in both English and Mandarin.
