Java Developer III

We are currently seeking a Developer - Core Programming Language (Java) III for a leading financial information and analytics company. This organization is dedicated to fostering a culture of learning, growth, and innovation, offering individualized career coaching and flexible work arrangements.

This 6-month contract opportunity is based in New York, NY or New Jersey with a hybrid work arrangement that requires an on-site presence at least two days per week. As a Java Developer, you’ll work alongside the IT team to design, develop, test, and deploy critical and complex Java-based projects, contributing to key initiatives for a leading organization in the financial sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy complex Java-based projects.
• Develop concurrent and distributed systems using Java.
• Utilize Java 8 features, especially Streams API.
• Implement microservices-based solutions.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure high-quality code.
• Write and optimize SQL queries with a solid understanding of data models.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive software solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Java development, including designing, developing, testing, and deploying complex projects.
• Expertise in Java fundamentals and experience with concurrent and distributed systems.
• Strong experience with Java 8 features, particularly Streams API.
• 5+ years of experience with Spring-based technologies (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, etc.) and caching frameworks like Hazelcast.
• 5+ years of experience writing SQL queries and working with data models.
• Experience in designing and implementing microservices-based solutions.
• Proven experience in writing unit and integration tests.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services (EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in DevOps development and deployment using Docker and containers.

To qualify for our benefits package, you must work over 30 hours per week and the assignment must last at least 10 weeks.
