Data Engineer

We are currently seeking a Data Engineer for an exciting contract opportunity with a prominent financial services company in Newark, DE. This is a hybrid position for a 1-3 month contract.

As a Data Engineer on the Enterprise Data Services (EDS) team, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, supporting, and maintaining a portfolio of AWS data ingestion services and ETL applications. This role provides an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, collaborate with diverse teams, and have a direct impact on the quality and reliability of critical data systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, support, and maintain the AWS data ingestion services and ETL applications within the Enterprise Data Services (EDS) portfolio.
• Collaborate with EDW team leads, vendors, business teams, and management to gather requirements, resolve issues, and build new ETL solutions.
• Leverage technical expertise in AWS services, including Glue, Python, and Informatica, to create scalable and efficient data solutions.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies, industry standards, and best practices for all new designs and design changes.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of EDW standards, quality control procedures, and proactive error handling to improve data quality and system reliability.
• Collaborate with IT Management, Data Architects, and Governance organizations to ensure alignment with the team’s vision and objectives.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Hands-on experience with AWS, particularly AWS Glue, Python, and Informatica (Power Center, Power Exchange, IDMC).
• Proven expertise in building ETL solutions and integrating AWS services to deliver high-quality data solutions.
• Strong experience with Snowflake and building new ETL solutions into Snowflake using Informatica.
• Ability to establish and maintain EDW standards and quality controls to enhance code development and data reliability.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Prior experience in the financial services industry is a plus, but not required.
