Job Title: Civil/Structural Engineer - Defence Infrastructure

Location: Glasgow (Hybrid Role: 2 days/month in-office)

Key Responsibilities:

• 📄 Design Substantiation: Create and manage documentation supporting Nuclear Infrastructure Design.
• 🔄 Design Leadership: Justify and lead design changes and concessions.
• 📢 Presentations: Communicate design justifications effectively to safety committees.
• 🛠️ Maintenance Schedules: Develop and maintain schedules for Examination, Inspection, Maintenance, and Testing.
• 🧠 Technical Advisory: Provide expert technical advice to stakeholders.
• 🔍 Independent Reviews: Conduct reviews to ensure compliance and integrity.

Profile:

Essential:

• 📜 HNC in Civil Engineering
• 🛡️ Basic health and safety training

Desirable:

• 🎓 Chartered Engineer status
• 📚 Training in nuclear safety case development

Experience:

• 🏗️ Civil/Structural Engineering: Preferably within the UK nuclear industry.
• 🌉 Structural Design: Proficient in designing and assessing industrial and maritime structures.
• 📏 Codes and Standards: Knowledgeable in relevant codes and standards.
• 💻 Software Skills: Proficient in relevant design software and IT tools.
