Job Description

Main purpose of the job and key background information

You will play an integral role in valuation services provided to PwC audit companies as well as non-audit companies as it relates to various debt/equity investments and valuation of portfolio companies. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

● Analyzing third party valuations by challenging assumptions and performing sensitivity analysis on a wide range of illiquid investments across industries and geographies while using accepted and relevant approaches and theory

● Developing deep technical strength in the valuation of alternative assets, serving as a firm resource for that expertise

● Reporting and presenting analysis and conclusions including written reports, and drafting valuation queries for audit team

● Delegating effectively tasks and providing direction and support to more junior team members

● Enhancing the quality of work by actively supervising and coaching others taking responsibility for the quality of work and performing a critical self-review, seeking proactively the advice of supervisors, and responding to feedback in a timely manner

● Building long-term client relationships through exceptional client service including a deep understanding of the client and their needs, exceptional responsiveness, and the delivery of the highest quality service and work product.

Education & Experience

● CA/CFA/FRM certified or pursuing /MBA/PGDM

● 2-5 years of valuation-related work experience including but not limited to solid experience of constructing and reviewing valuation models such as: DCF, comparable company / bond, option pricing model (knowledge of building breakpoints), waterfall allocation methods etc.

● Understanding of Debt & Equity industry, Startup and VC funding, and understanding capital structure of private company

● End to end understanding of various nuances in arriving at fair valuation of private company’s shares

● Ability to analyze key financial metrics depending on the portfolio company’s industry, identify historical trends and perform calibration analysis to understand the key drivers causing the changes in the company's valuation in each reporting period.

● Proficient in MS Excel

● Experience of building and maintaining client relationships

● Experience in mentoring staff and / or managing a small team

● Ability to coordinate internal teams and tasks across a variety of functions

● Knowledge of CapitalIQ will be an advantage

● Playing a role in discussions, proactively ask questions and share an informed point of view;

● Strong research, financial modeling, analytical and valuation skills

● Strong communication skills along with fluency in English.

● Strong intellectual curiosity and a fast learner

● Demonstrated capability of working effectively with 3rd parties, including managing the process/ timetable of deliverables and providing feedback etc.

● Strong team player. Demonstrated capability of working closely with team members and delivering quality work under tight schedule

● Flexible and able to adapt to changing situations

Requirements

These should include essential & desirable requirements such as:

● Bachelor’s in finance/Accounting/Economics with focus on valuation methods (B. Com, B.Sc. with Economics Hons) along with following certifications: - CFA (US) or CA – Mandatory

● Work Experience ranges as below: - 3 to 5 years for CA / CFA (US)

● Work Experience from following organizations: - Big 4s – similar experience - Financial Services Companies / Investment Banks – Barclays, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, Wells Fargo, Macquarie, Standard Chartered, Nomura, Citigroup, HSBC, Karvy Financial Services Company, Merrill Lynch, UBS, Bank of America, Fidelity Investments, Blackrock, TIAA - Valuation firms such as Duff & Phelps - Consulting Firms: Accenture, McKinsey & Co., IBM

● Advance knowledge on Microsoft Office especially Excel

● Experience in financial modelling

● Good understanding of corporate financial statements and various types of securities

● Proficient written and verbal English communication skills

● Commitment to continuous training and to proactively learn new processes

● Demonstrated self-motivation and a desire to take responsibility for personal growth and development.
