Civil Finishing Works Inspector

Within the framework of a contract in force with AKKUYU NÜKLEER (from the Russian Group ROSATOM), AEOS is in charge of the quality inspection of the construction and installation works related to the structures, systems and components important for nuclear safety of the 1st Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) of Turkey, of which construction is ongoing at Akkuyu site in the province of Mersin until 2028

Civil Finishing Works inspector is in charge of performing predefined checks regarding the conformity of finishing works of the NPP buildings. These inspections will concern mainly finishing works of floors, walls and ceilings, fixing ceramic tiles, sanitary fixtures, accessories, paintings, wooden doors, aluminium windows, partitions, cladding, metal works such as handrail, grating, louvers etc.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the finishing works inspected are compliant with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
• Ensure the traceability of the inspections performed, of the defaults and deviations observed and of the non-conformities issued
• Verify the defaults, deviations or non-conformities are properly corrected
• Ensure his/her inspection activities are performed in a safely manner

Duties

• Carry out all his/her inspection activities in compliance with the Turkish regulation 30024 related to the quality inspection of the nuclear power plants
• Take knowledge of the Akkuyu NPP Project referential (norms, standards, specifications, procedures, etc.) related to the architectural / finishing works
• Review and comment the execution documentation (technical drawings, quality plans …) related to the works to be inspected
• Prepare the inspection on site by identifying the elementary checks to be carried out, considering the requirements defined by the Turkish law 30024
• Conduct the inspection on site in order to verify the compliance of the finishing works executed with the execution documentation and applicable norms and standards
• Elaborate Work Inspection Reports in order to keep record of the content and the results of the inspection performed on site
• Describe and record the defaults or deviations observed during the inspection and follow-up their resolution
• Perform an assessment on the defaults and deviations recorded, and when decided, describe and write a non-conformity notification, then monitor the corresponding corrective and preventive actions
• Launch independent tests on samples, when necessary (i.e. paint pull-off tests, surface humidity), to be performed by accredited laboratories and follow up the results
• Respect the existing AEOS NCIO project Quality Assurance processes and HSE requirements

• Contribute to the elaboration of the AEOS NCIO Project Monthly Report, by providing information on inspection activities carried out during the month
• Attend, on request, internal or external technical meetings

Interfaces

• Belong to the AEOS NCIO Inspection Team

• Report to the Civil-Works Lead Inspector and follow his/her instructions

• Notify the Civil-Works Lead Inspector of defaults, deviations and non-conformities and on their resolution status

• Interface with the AEOS NCIO Project Support team, on documentation management topics and for the elaboration of the Monthly Report

• Respect the instructions given by the QHSE team regarding Quality Assurance and HSE requirements

• Communicate and exchange on a daily basis with all the stakeholders involved in the construction civil works, in order to efficiently perform the inspection activities

Knowledge

• Knowledge of civil construction works standards:

o ISO 9001 – Quality Management

o TS500 – Reinforcement concrete structure design and execution

o TSEN206-1 & TS13515 - concrete standards

o TS708 – Reinforcement material standard

o SP70133302012 – Russian standard for civil structure execution

• Fluent in Turkish – read and spoken

• Fluent in English – read, spoken and written

• Fluent in Russian – read, spoken (will be a plus)

• Microsoft Office software (professional use)

Education

• Technical diploma in civil-works field (High school + 2 years as a minimum)
• Undergraduate diploma in civil field (High school + 4 years, will be a plus)

Experience

• 3 years in inspection and/or in quality assurance/quality control in civil-works
• 5 years minimum of professional experience in civil-works in construction or industrial projects
• Experience in a Russian construction project (will be a plus)

Qualification

• ISO 9001 certificate (will be a plus)

Specific requirements

• Driving license mandatory
• Military service completed
• Flexibility in working time due to construction site necessities
