Job Description

The AI Safety Protections Analyst, Trust & Safety role at Google focuses on safeguarding the integrity and safety of Google's AI products. This involves leveraging advanced machine learning and AI techniques to develop scalable safety solutions, analyzing Google's protection measures using statistical and data science methods, uncovering potential weaknesses, and developing actionable insights for continuous security improvement. The role also entails crafting data stories for various stakeholders, including senior leadership, to deliver business outcomes. Additionally, the position involves developing automated data pipelines and self-service dashboards to provide insights at scale.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
2 years of experience in data analysis
2 years of experience managing projects
Experience in programming languages (Python, R, Julia)
Experience in database languages (SQL)
Experience in scripting languages (C/C++, Python, Java)
Excellent problem-solving skills

Good to have:

Master's degree in a quantitative discipline
5 years of work experience in a data analysis or data science setting
Experience in abuse and fraud disciplines
Experience in applying ML techniques to datasets

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
2 years of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree in a quantitative discipline.
5 years of work experience in a data analysis or data science setting.
Experience in programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Julia), database languages (e.g., SQL) and with scripting languages (e.g., C/C++, Python, Java).
Experience in abuse and fraud disciplines, focused on web security, harmful content moderation and threat analysis.
Experience in applying ML techniques to datasets.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in a fluid environment.

This role works with sensitive content or situations and will be exposed to graphic, controversial, or upsetting topics or content.

Responsibilities

Develop scalable safety solutions for AI products across Google by leveraging advanced machine learning and AI techniques.
Apply statistical and data science methods to thoroughly examine Google's protection measures, uncover potential shortcomings, and develop actionable insights for continuous security enhancement.
Deliver business outcomes by crafting data stories for a variety of stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Develop automated data pipelines and self-service dashboards to provide insights at scale.
