Job Description
- Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming as necessary. Fill cracks, holes, and imperfections to ensure a smooth and even finish. Protect surrounding areas from paint splatter and damage using masking tape and drop cloths.
- Paint Application: Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces including walls, ceilings, doors, and trim. Use brushes, rollers, and spray guns to achieve desired coverage and texture. Ensure that paint colors and finishes are consistent with established standards and specifications.
- Specialized Finishes: Perform specialized painting techniques such as faux finishing, texture painting, and decorative painting to enhance the visual appeal of designated areas. Follow design plans and instructions to achieve desired effects and patterns.
- Maintenance and Touch-ups: Inspect painted surfaces regularly to identify signs of wear, fading, or damage. Perform touch-up painting and repairs as needed to maintain the integrity of the finishes and prolong their lifespan.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while performing painting tasks. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow proper ventilation procedures to minimize exposure to fumes and hazardous materials.
- Material Management: Manage inventory of painting supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained. Coordinate with procurement staff to replenish supplies in a timely manner.
- Proven experience as a Painter in a similar role, preferably in a hospitality or commercial setting.
- Proficiency in surface preparation techniques, paint application methods, and specialized finishing techniques.
- Knowledge of paint types, finishes, and color mixing principles.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Certification or training in painting techniques and safety practices is desirable.
