Job Summary:

As a Sports Industry Information Specialist at ESPN, you will utilize extensive sports industry knowledge to help keep ESPN at the cutting edge of sports news and information as it relates to Talent matters. This role serves as the center of the Talent Office, keeping up-to-date with all facets of the sports industry and public-facing talent business – both internally and externally. We are looking for a Specialist that has a deeply-rooted passion and maintains extensive sports knowledge to stay on top of industry news and trends.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the day-to-day sports industry information lead of Talent Office.
  • Stay in-the-know about all sports industry information, related to leagues, teams, rights deals, player matters and other sports industry occurrences of note that are relevant to Talent Office negotiation and matters.
  • Develop deep knowledge of all ESPN content, including understanding the cadence of specific sport calendars, usage of Talent across all platforms.
  • Stay in-the-know about all ESPN programming, and stay looped in regarding internal moves and changes.
  • Effectively and efficiently communicate information to Talent Office team.
  • Prepare comprehensive but succinct written briefings for Talent-related meetings.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with talent and their representatives.
  • Must have and maintain extensive sports industry knowledge, able to keep up with the 24/7 nature of sports and our production business.
  • Must build and maintain strong relationships with Talent and Publicists to help identify and assist with needs while traveling and on campus.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of (public facing) Talent Office, Sports Industry, or Sports Information experience.
  • High level of trust and confidentiality to work with sensitive information daily.
  • Must have and demonstrate strong industry contacts.
  • Able to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Teamwork and collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience or roles related to sports information.
  • Professional and diplomatic in dealing with both internal and external personalities.
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Must be a self-starter.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree

The hiring range for this position in Bristol, CT is $57,810 – $77,550 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
