Job Description

Luxoft seeks a Senior Linux Engineer to manage and enhance its client's IT infrastructure. Responsibilities encompass server management (deployment, configuration, maintenance of Linux OS, software/application updates, performance monitoring, troubleshooting), security (best practices implementation, audits, vulnerability assessments), user account management, backup/recovery procedures development, hardware/software procurement, documentation, reporting, technical support, and system monitoring. The role requires strong Linux administration experience (5+ years), AWS proficiency, automation skills (Puppet), and expertise in network security. The client is a FinTech company, emphasizing a dynamic and growth-oriented environment.

Must have:

5+ years Linux System Admin experience in finance
Strong knowledge of Linux server OS (Oracle or RedHat)
AWS proficiency (console, CLI, main services)
Proficiency in automating Linux provisioning using Puppet
Network & security expertise
Troubleshooting skills

Good to have:

Nagios, Docker, Bash, Terraform
Git workflow, Nexus Repo, Gitlab
Foreman, Spacewalk, IBM MQ, VMware

As a Systems Administrator at Luxoft you will be responsible for the implementation and management of our clients IT infrastructure, covering Windows, Linux and networks. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of systems and servers.

Responsibilities

Server Management:

Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems.

Install, update, and patch server software and applications.

Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources.

Security and Compliance:

Implement security best practices to safeguard servers and network infrastructure.

Perform regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and system hardening.

User Account Management:

Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts and access permissions.

Provide technical support to users for account-related issues.

Backup and Recovery:

Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures for critical data and systems.

Test backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and system availability.

Hardware and Software Procurement:

Assess hardware and software requirements, research vendors, and make recommendations for procurement.

Install and configure hardware components, including servers, storage, and peripherals.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies.

Generate regular reports on system performance, capacity, and security.

Technical Support:

Provide second-level technical support to resolve complex issues escalated from the helpdesk.

Collaborate with service desk personnel to ensure timely issue resolution.

Monitoring and Alerts:

Implement system monitoring tools and configure alerts for proactive issue identification.

Respond to and resolve critical system alerts in a timely manner.

Skills

Must have

Linux Administration:

5+ years as a Linux System Administrator, SRE, or similar role in finance industry

Strong knowledge of Linux server OS (Oracle or RedHat) – system builds, maintenance (on-prem and AWS Cloud)

System upgrades and improvements

Good troubleshooting skills with Linux and related software

Cloud & AWS:

Strong foundation in AWS (console, CLI, main services and cloud administration)

Automation & Tools:

Proficiency in automatic Linux provisioning, Puppet

Monitoring tools: LogicMonitor, Opsgenie or Pagerduty

Nginx, Graylog, LDAP, RedHat IDM or FreeIPA, HashiCorp Vault/Consul

Network & Security:

Proficiency in network protocols, security, and firewalls

Strong cybersecurity awareness

Nice-to-have:

Monitoring tools: Nagios

Docker administration (on/off prem)

Good knowledge of Bash, Terraform

Proficiency in Git workflow

Nexus Repo and Gitlab platform administration & support

Foreman, Spacewalk

IBM MQ administration

VMWare and Windows Server

Nice to have
