As a Business Analyst - Legal Operations, you will:
Technology and Systems Management
Design, develop, and implement technical solutions to enhance the efficiency of legal operations
Administer and support legal technology tools, including contract management, eBilling, matter management, and legal hold systems
Configure and customize system workflows, templates, and automation rules to meet evolving business needs
Conduct quality assurance testing for system updates and integrations to ensure seamless functionality
Serve as a technical expert, providing ongoing support and troubleshooting for internal and external system users
Data Analysis and Reporting
Extract, analyze, and interpret data to generate detailed reports, metrics, and dashboards that inform decision-making
Monitor performance indicators and service-level agreements (SLAs), providing actionable insights to leadership
Perform data integrity audits to ensure accuracy and reliability across all systems
Compile and deliver monthly and quarterly presentations, highlighting trends and recommendations for process improvements
Training and Collaboration
Develop, update, and deliver training programs and resources for legal team members and stakeholders
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, and compliance, to ensure alignment and seamless integration of systems and processes
Act as a liaison between legal and other departments to identify needs, propose solutions, and optimize user satisfaction
Gather user input and refine system configurations and policies
Process Improvement and Innovation
Identify opportunities for process automation and simplification to reduce manual work and increase efficiency
Participate in strategic initiatives, contributing to the design and implementation of innovative solutions
Stay informed of emerging legal technology trends and make recommendations to enhance the department’s capabilities
Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and best practices across legal operations
You bring a combination of technical skills, analytical thinking, and a collaborative mindset to the role. While not all qualifications are required, here’s what we’re looking for:
Experience: 2+ years in legal operations, IT, or a related field (legal or corporate settings preferred but not required)
Education: A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, IT, or equivalent experience)
Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Smartsheet, and similar tools; familiarity with DocuSign CLM as an administrator is a plus
Attributes: A self-starter with a passion for problem-solving, an eagerness to learn, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Communication: Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences and to build presentations that effectively present valuable information to leadership
