Rackspace seeks a Lead Cloud Engineer to oversee a greenfield multicloud migration project. Responsibilities include coordinating technical and management aspects of cloud infrastructure and DevOps, identifying and addressing product deficiencies, collaborating with customer engineering teams, implementing automation/DevOps best practices (CI/CD, IaC, Containerization), performing Linux/Windows administration and automated deployments, and serving as a technical advisor. This role requires expertise in AWS and Azure, familiarity with GCP, and experience with cloud migrations from on-prem to cloud. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and Kubernetes, along with proficiency in scripting (Bash/PowerShell/Python) and cloud monitoring tools.

Job Details
Job Summary: Rackspace is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cloud Engineer. We’re currently migrating a new customer up into a multicloud environment. This is truly a greenfield project where you’ll be the technical expert in cloud Infrastructure Support, overseeing various aspects of network architecture, information security, IT system Administration and Tools, and DevOps processes.
Work Location: US Remote
Key Responsibilities:
- Play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the technical, peripheral, and management aspects of our cloud infrastructure and DevOps requirements.
- Identify and address product bugs, deficiencies, and performance bottlenecks.
- Work with customers engineering teams on a wide variety of projects.
- Implement automation/DevOps best practices for CI/CD, IaC, Containerization, etc.
- Perform Linux/Windows administration, automated deployments, scripting (Bash/PowerShell/Python).
- Collaborate with fellow Rackers and customer key stakeholders to deliver projects, such as implementing Cloud-based technical architectures, executing migrations, and optimizing applications that enable business objectives.
- Serve as a technical advisor and perform troubleshooting to resolve technical challenges for customers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field required, master’s degree preferred. Additional experience may substitute for the degree requirement at a rate of 3 years of experience for 1 year of education.
- AWS Solutions Architect certification is preferred.
- 7+ years of combined technical support experience
- Expert level knowledge of AWS and Azure.
- Familiarity with GCP.
- Experience working in a project environment, in a supplier, vendor or consultant capacity.
- Experience with cloud migrations from onprem -> cloud.
- Administration experience with both Windows and Linux Servers.
- Experienced with cloud monitoring tools such as service now.
- Experienced with DevOps, CI/CD deployments, and Kubernetes.

· The anticipated starting pay range for Colorado is: $116,100 - $170-280.
· The anticipated starting pay range for the states of Hawaii and New York (not including NYC) is: $123,600 - $181,280.
· The anticipated starting pay range for California, New York City and Washington is: $135,300 - $198,440.
Unless already included in the posted pay range and based on eligibility, the role may include variable compensation in the form of bonus, commissions, or other discretionary payments. These discretionary payments are based on company and/or individual performance and may change at any time. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location. #LI-MF1
