Summary

The Federal Product Manager at Forescout will define and manage the network and operational technology security product portfolio for US Government and DoD clients. Responsibilities include packaging existing features into solutions, collaborating with product managers on new capabilities, monitoring the competitive landscape, managing a product backlog aligned with CDM and C2C strategies, working with cross-functional teams on product development and launch, gathering customer requirements, ensuring product quality and compliance with federal standards (e.g., FIPS, STIGs), and maintaining strong customer relationships. The role requires deep knowledge of US Federal security technologies, Zero Trust principles, and relevant industry standards.
Must have:

  • Understanding of Zero Trust, CDM, and C2C programs
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication & collaboration skills

Good to have:
  • MBA or advanced degree
  • Product management certification
  • Experience with Federal certifications (FIPS, CC, etc.)
  • Familiarity with common Federal cybersecurity solutions
  • Cloud experience (GCP, Azure, AWS, FedRAMP)

What You Will Do
Forescout has an excellent opportunity for a strategic and business-focused Federal Product Manager to join our high-energy, multi-cultural, world-changing team.  As the Federal Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in defining and managing our network security and operational technology security product portfolio. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Manager to oversee and drive initiatives related United States Government and Department of Defense (DoD) requirements within our organization. As a key member of our Product team, you will play a crucial role in defining, implementing and coordinating initiatives across Product teams to maximize the value of Forescout solutions in the US Federal market, aligned with Zero Trust principles, the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) program, and the DoD Comply to Connect (C2C) programs. You will be responsible for driving the definition, development, launch, and adoption of our US Federal Product strategy to maintain market share as a leading CDM and C2C solution. You will be a key point in solution definition and delivery ensuring features and capabilities are successfully adopted by US Gov’t and DOD agencies.  You will be the market champion coordinating with Product Management, R&D, Support, Marketing to ensure Customers, Sales, and SEs are enabled to deliver and maximize solution value.   
 
In this role, you will:
  • Package existing features and capabilities into a solution pitch to address the needs of the US Gov’t and DOD customers
  • Collaborate with Capabilities Product Managers to ensure new products and capabilities are applicable to the Federal vertical. including validation of concepts and feature acceptance by representative customers
  • Continuously monitor the competitive landscape and US Federal market trends in network and operational technology security to identify opportunities and threats. Identify potential risks related to US Federal CDM and C2C projects and develop mitigation plans. Use data-driven insights to make informed product decisions.
  • Create and manage a detailed backlog for implementing US Federal CDM and C2C strategies aligned to the product roadmap, prioritizing features and enhancements based on customer needs, industry standards, and technology advancements.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, marketing, and customer support, to ensure successful product development, launch, and support.
  • Work with R&D and Solution QA to implement or support product quality control initiatives to ensure network and operational technology security products are tested against common US Federal customer security baselines (e.g., FIPS Mode enabled).
  • Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to gather product requirements and translate them into detailed specifications for development teams.
  • Lead the product development process for vertical specific capabilities, including feature definition, design, and testing, to ensure products are delivered on time and meet quality standards, employing Agile development methodologies.
  • Understand US Federal customer use cases and requirements working with UX to connect with users and create interaction and experiences.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key US Federal customers, gathering feedback and insights to drive product improvements and enhancements.
  • Monitor the performance of network and operational technology security products in the US Federal market, tracking key metrics and making data-driven adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure that network and operational technology security products comply with relevant US Federal standards and security best practices, including managing and keeping current US Federal implementation guidance related to Forescout products (including but not limited to DoD Security Implementation Technical Guidance (STIG) documentation).
 
 
What You Will Bring

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Product Manager or Sales Engineer working with a Product Management organization in network and cybersecurity industry, focused on US Federal customers.
  • Successfully gone from concept from business case approval through grooming, validation, and acceptance, leading to adoption by customers with value delivery
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree is a plus).
  • In-depth knowledge of US Federal network and operational security technologies, industry trends, and policy (e.g., OMB, DHS CISA, DoD CIO, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of US Federal Zero Trust concepts, architectures, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and interdisciplinary problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and SCRUM, product management certification (e.g., Pragmatic Marketing, Certified Scrum Product Owner) is a plus.
  • Domain expertise in one or more of the following areas: Zero Trust, Segmentation, NAC, AAA, Radius/TACACs, 802.1x, Identity & Directory services, endpoint deployment and integration.
  • Familiarity with common US Federal Network and Cybersecurity solutions including Palo Alto Prisma Access, Cisco ISE, Aruba Clearpass, Tenable, McAfee/Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator, Zscaler, Splunk, Service NOW.
  • Experience with Federal certifications: IPv6, FIPs, CC, DODIN APL, SRGs/STIGs.
  • Cloud experience: GCP, Azure, AWS, FedRAMP.
