Job Details
Magnopus is seeking a visionary and dynamic Director of Design to lead our design team and drive the creative excellence in the delivery of projects. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, exceptional design skills, and strong leadership abilities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of design principles, a passion for innovation, and the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team of designers.
The compensation band for this role falls between $130,000 - $220,000 USD annually. Salaries offered are based on candidate experience, internal equity, and the level at which they are hired.
Magnopus's studio postings are made in advance of work anticipated to be awarded. Hires cannot be made until contracts are awarded. In some instances, contracts may not be awarded which could delay or preempt the interview process. We appreciate your patience.
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy: Lead and mentor the design team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Develop and implement design strategies that align with Magnopus's vision and objectives.
- Creative Direction: Oversee the creative process from concept to execution, ensuring high-quality and innovative design solutions. Work with the Creative leads on projects to support the delivery of compelling experiences.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to understand project requirements and deliver exceptional design outcomes. Present design concepts and articulate design decisions effectively.
- Design Excellence: Set and maintain high standards for design quality and consistency. Stay current with design trends and emerging technologies to ensure our work remains at the forefront of the industry.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of hands on design experience
- Minimum 7 years design experience in console, PC or VR/AR/MR games or interactive experiences using 3D game engines like Unreal or Unity
- At least 5 years of people leadership of teams of 5 or more.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering and overseeing the management of multiple concurrent projects from inception to delivery.
