Job Description:

What will you work on?
 

The Director, Brand Marketing has a proven ability and passion to develop and bring to life compelling brands across product lifecycles from concept to launch and beyond.

This position is a strategic role that requires a deep understanding of the customer, global markets, competition, trends, business goals, product knowledge and strategic planning across multiple marketing channels. The role requires a high degree of strategic planning matched with the ability to lead across functions.

How will you create impact?

  • Creates the Global Brand Strategy and Product Development Strategies that drives the product development for their brands.  
  • Support a portfolio of brands through global product management and clearly communicate/brief the Global Brand Strategies, Positioning and Product Strategies to all business partners. 
  • Defines the business case for our product assortment. This position will own revenue and margin goals across all products within their portfolio.
  • Manage and work with brand team and cross functional teams on product development - from concept feasibility and selection, consumer research, production, and marketplace success.
  • Participate in sales presentations for large retailers and provide sales tools supporting successful sell in of one or more brands.
  • Defines the business case for our product assortment. This position will own revenue and margin goals across all products within their portfolio
  • Assist in management of trade shows, conducting analysis of effectiveness, prioritization of exhibiting and attendance, product selections and booth design directions.
  • Manage the financial aspects of a portfolio of the brand, including costing and pricing, PL, budgeting, SKU rationalization and profitability analysis.
  • Identify desirable new business opportunities and market expansion potential by conducting sales and marketing competitive analysis of current and potential business.  Analysis to include licensing opportunities, channels of distribution and sales targets, pricing for each class of trade, industry standard margin requirements, market definition, promotional spending requirements and consumer benefits/needs

  • Demonstrates a high degree of strategic planning matched with ability to lead across functions.
  • Leads the Development of Brand foundations including Brand Wheel (brand positioning)
  • Leads Development of product and brand strategies to ladder up to overall GBT Growth Plans
  • Create Global Brand Directional Outline to deliver upon GBT strategy for assigned portfolio of brands
  • Owns revenue and margin goals, PL across all products within their portfolio - including Global content budgets
  • Understands insights, can analyze factors contributing to insights and brings ideas to change strategy to contribute to the growth of the brand

  • Engages stakeholders appropriately in business dialogue.
  • Able to handle objections effectively and evolve discussions.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Fosters co-operation and collaboration both within their teams and between cross functional partners to the overall improvement of Spin Master

  • Understands broader considerations including aisle placement and real estate, buyer mentality, competition, and online vs brick and mortar advantages
  • Understands and can articulate how macro-economic factors affect our business and the industry     


What are your skills and experience?

  • Consumer product brand management experience in a new product-oriented industry, preferably in children’s toys
  • Managerial experience
