Job Description

Automation Test Engineer needed for a large UK grocery retailer undergoing a technological transformation. Responsibilities include developing and executing test plans, test cases, and scripts; collaborating with cross-functional teams; performing manual and automated testing; utilizing testing tools and frameworks; participating in the design and implementation of test automation frameworks; analyzing test results and providing feedback; documenting defects; and contributing to process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, be self-managed, and ready to take on challenges and responsibilities. The role requires 5+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance, proficiency in Java/Python, and experience with tools like Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, and TestNG. This is a remote opportunity within India.

Must have:

5+ years exp in software testing
Strong understanding of SDLC & testing methodologies

Our Client is one of the largest in UK groceries and general merchandise retailer is in the middle of transformation to technology Company in retail. As part of this exercise renovation of the technology landscape taking place across the Company. As a partner, we support our client in this journey and help to develop from scratch new applications for various departments (Supply Chain, Product Lifecycle Management, Finance, HR etc.).

Qualifications:
• BE/B.Tech, MCA.
• years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
• Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG, etc.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python.
• Solid understanding of system architecture, networking concepts, and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Proven ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of our systems.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and design comprehensive testing strategies.

Perform both manual and automated testing to identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and verify system functionality.

Utilize testing tools and frameworks to streamline the testing process and improve efficiency.

Participate in the design and implementation of test automation frameworks to support continuous integration and deployment pipelines.

Analyze test results and provide feedback to stakeholders on the quality of the system under test.

Document defects and track resolution progress throughout the testing lifecycle.

Contribute to the improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and best practices.

Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance testing capabilities and stay ahead of competition.

Actively participate in team meetings, sprint planning, and retrospective sessions to ensure alignment and collaboration across the organization

We need an automated tester experienced 5+yrs years

Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
