POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Licensing Manager at Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. will be responsible for coordinating and leading the overall licensing brand strategy for all core gaming IPs for the Americas territories. This role oversees the licensing agreements, negotiates contracts, and manages the day-to-day account management of various intellectual properties of Bandai Namco. They will also analyze financial aspects, build and maintain partnerships, and ensure legal compliance to maximize revenue and protect the brand integrity within Bandai Namco objectives and guidelines. Associate Licensing Managers also play a crucial role in exploring new opportunities for growth through licensing partnerships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the Director, Licensing to determine strategic objectives and contribute to the overall revenue growth of the IP Licensing departmental goals
  • Possess acute knowledge interest in gaming industry including retailer insight, sales lifecycles, line planning, trends and play patterns
  • Analyze existing licensee businesses via sales comparisons, forecasts, and competitive analysis on a quarterly basis
  • Ability to effectively communicate with cross functional teams including brand marketing, legal, finance and other Bandai Namco affiliated international territories.
  • Gather annual and quarterly sales projections and verify quarterly sales with licensee partners for the finance department
  • Contribute to new Licensee recruitment: blue sky ideation, incremental business opportunity identification, trend research, and overall market analysis
  • Prospect for new Licensees, present pitches, prepare sales materials, presentations/decks and ad-hoc reports/requests
  • Participate in weekly cross-functional approval meetings with Licensing, Product Development, Legal, Brand IP owners, and Marketing teams to gain internal alignment and direction
  • Up to 25% travel for trade and industry related shows

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+years of experience in licensing preferably in video gaming, animation or related entertainment industry experience
  • Proficient in reviewing licensing contracts and fluency in negotiating key business terms
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage processes and workflows through multiple departments and locations
  • Ability to multi-task and drive efficiency in project-oriented tasks
  • Intercultural knowledge of Japanese and US based markets a plus

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Business Administration, Communication, or related field
  • Or relevant work experience

Salary Range: $64,528 - $90,096

Actual base salary will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, but not limited to, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees and it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
