The VP of Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing and public relations plans, leveraging data analytics to drive growth across franchisees and customer segments. This includes managing the marketing budget, overseeing corporate communications, building strategic alliances, and leading a high-performing marketing team. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in brand and digital marketing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in the fitness industry or with franchise businesses is a plus. The role is a hybrid position based in Carlsbad, CA, requiring 3-4 days per week in the office.

This is a hybrid-onsite role in Carlsbad, CA and you will be expected to work in-office 4 days per week. 

Our client, a fitness and lifestyle company, is looking for a VP of Marketing to join their team for an exciting, direct-hire opportunity. This role is based in Carlsbad, CA and this VP will be expected to work in office 3-4 days per week. 

VP of Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Leverage research and data analytics to define, execute, and evaluate both strategic and tactical marketing and public relations plans.
  • Identify and capitalize on revenue opportunities within franchisees and customer segments to drive growth through acquisition, conversion, and retention.
  • Lead corporate communications efforts, both internally and externally, to maintain consistent messaging and brand integrity.
  • Oversee public relations initiatives to enhance the brand's reputation and maintain positive media relationships.
  • Manage short-term and long-term scheduling, budget, and resource needs, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Create and oversee the annual marketing budget, optimizing resource allocation to achieve maximum ROI.
  • Establish and manage strategic alliances and third-party relationships to support marketing initiatives.
  • Build and lead a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Provide regular updates and strategic reviews to the Executive Team.
  • Stay current with industry trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to inform marketing strategies and drive innovation.
  • Translate industry insights into actionable plans to maintain a leadership position in the fitness sector.

VP of Marketing Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, advertising, business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in brand and digital marketing.
  • At least 5 years in a senior leadership role with team management responsibilities.
  • Experience in the fitness industry, franchise business, or relevant franchisee experience is a plus.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets effectively.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, decision-making, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in content management systems, design software, and social media platforms.
