The Technical Program Manager II - Azure Core at Microsoft will define architecture and technical requirements for foundational Azure platform components. This role involves collaborating with teams across Azure to prioritize maintenance, change management, deployment, and operations. Responsibilities include leading product planning for E2E scenarios, defining KPIs, and partnering with engineers on product roadmaps. The successful candidate will drive cross-team technical issue resolution, present to customers, and leverage feedback to improve the product and technology. The position is based in Belgrade, Serbia and requires strong technical skills, excellent communication, and a collaborative spirit. Experience in the software industry and with infrastructure components is preferred.

The Microsoft Azure Core team builds and manages the fundamental platform across compute, storage, and networking services. Our team works on core infrastructure that helps other teams in Azure deliver changes safely to our customers. Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent technical education/experience.
  • Strong technical background and solid foundation in software engineering principles.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English.
  • Strong cross-team collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in Software industry and product/program management experience, ideally shipping infrastructure components.
  • Exposure to Cloud, Hardware, Deployment technologies, Data Analytics.
  • Architecture skills in distributed systems and a great appetite for learning the foundational blocks of the Azure platform.
  • Detail and results-oriented
  • Passion for execution with measurable results; focus on delivering impact.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and passion for innovation.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, navigate uncertain situations, and drive for clarity.

Responsibilities

  • Define architecture and technical requirements for foundational components in the Azure platform.
  • Work with customers and partner teams to identify and prioritize maintenance, change management, deployment, and operations centric scenarios.
  • Lead product planning for E2E scenarios related to the above areas.
  • Define KPIs and establish and execute plans for improving those KPIs.
  • Partner with software engineers on scenario design, product roadmap, and incremental delivery, to jointly deliver core capabilities that help drive improvements to Azure overall operational excellence.
  • Drive broad cross team technical issues and customer experiences.
  • Present to customers and use customer and partner feedback to continuously improve the product and the technology.
