About the Role

This role is a combination of manual and automated testing.


Your role will include assessing our software quality through manual and automated testing and is integral to the success of the business. You will be creating and executing test cases and be responsible for finding and reporting bugs and glitches.


You have an eye for detail, great problem-solving abilities, and are known for your inquisitive and analytical mind. You value sharing your knowledge and expertise with the wider QA team. Attention to detail, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills will be a key factor for the role.


Availability during 7am IST to 4 pm IST is a requirement for this role.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Identity, record, and track product bugs.
  • Write and execute test cases, track defects, fixes, and retest in an Agile / Scrum environment.
  • Updating Product Backlog items as necessary.
  • Providing input to or creation of release notes and other documentation.
  • Perform thorough regression testing to ensure bugs are resolved.
  • Prioritize testing tasks based on criticality to the end-user and ensure that all testing activities are completed as scheduled and co-ordinate testing to ensure release/sprint timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Analyze and understand complex user stories, change requests, and bugs to create test cases/scenarios, including all information, databases/files, and steps to reproduce issues.
  • Debug issues and define corrective actions.
  • Work closely with developers to understand and define test requirements.
  • Document system behaviour.
  • When required, demonstrate a new feature or enhancement to the rest of the product team or the wider business.
  • Sharing and growing your knowledge, collaborating with other team members.
  • Strengthening our culture of high performance and continuous improvement.


Required Qualifications and Experience:


  • Minimum 3 years of experience in software testing.
  • Commercial experience in testing Windows Desktop applications.
  • Proven experience in different levels and types of testing such as functional, system, regression, user acceptance, stress and performance.
  • Ability to analyse a story/backlog item and acceptance criteria and provide high level estimates for the testing to be done.
  • Experience in C#/.NET programming languages.
  • Familiarity with SQL with skills to query data and run simple update scripts on databases.
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, TFS, or similar tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem solving and documentation skills.
  • Understanding of version control will be a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be a team player and work collaboratively in a team that is all about delivering to high standards.
  • Willingness to learn.


Preferred Skills (but not required):


  • Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Microsoft Azure cloud services.
  • Experience in any manufacturing software.
  • Experience in CAD designing and 2D/3D modelling and drawing.
