Job Description

As a Senior Software Developer Engineer in Test, you'll be pivotal in developing tools for manual and automated testing of a new casual puzzle game. Responsibilities include designing and implementing these tools, evaluating technical feasibility, providing time estimates, ensuring code quality and usability, actively contributing to project targets, mentoring junior team members, and supporting the development team in achieving higher product quality. You will work closely with the development team in implementing new features faster with higher quality. The role requires proficiency in C#, Unity, game development testing tools, and agile methodologies. Experience in the mobile gaming industry is essential. This position is not fully remote, but a relocation package to Helsinki is offered.

Must have:

Solid mobile game industry experience
Excellent C# programming skills
Proficient with Unity and testing tools
Knowledge of software development practices
Understanding of mobile platforms
Agile development proficiency

Good to have:

Proficient with configuration & content management tools
Experience with crash/error logs and reporting tools
Proficient with continuous integration systems (Jenkins)

Rovio is part of the SEGA family and world famous for our flagship IP Angry Birds - want to know more about Rovio as an employer? .

You will be joining a game team that is working on a new game, striving to top the charts of the casual puzzle genre in coming years!

We are looking for an expert developer with a strong background of tools development and working with QA automation to join our team and take ownership of developing tools that aid in manual and automated testing and development of the game. You will work closely alongside the wider development team and be an integral part of the team, helping the team implement new features faster with higher quality.

This role cannot be fully remote, but we offer a relocation package to Helsinki.

You will have impact and fun at work by doing:

Design and implementation of tools for manual and automated testing of game features
Evaluating technical feasibility, identifying risks and providing time estimates of own tasks
Taking ownership of documenting, code quality and usability of developed tooling
Working actively on helping the team achieve project targets
Mentoring less expert members in the game team
Supporting development team in reaching better product quality
Improving processes, tools and team work

Experience and skills we are looking for:

Solid experience working in the mobile gaming industry
Very good programming skills (especially C#)
Proficient with game development and testing tools (Unity and test automation tools)
Good knowledge of software development practices
Good understanding of mobile platforms and hardware
Proficient in agile development methods
Proficient with configuration and content management tools (AB testing etc)
Proficient with crash / error logs and reporting tools
Proficient with continuous integration systems (ideally Jenkins)
