We are looking for an Principal Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented engineers to design, build and operate Azure Host Networking layers.  If you are an experienced engineering lead with a track record of delivering high quality services, passion to build and grow people, and excitement to operate in a fast-paced culture while delivering services with enterprise level maturity, this is a great opportunity for you to take the next step in your career.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in leading large develop teams to achieve complex goals on time and within budget to drive innovation with customer obsession.
• 6+ years of experience in networking, distributed systems and network virtualization, and passion for high quality standards.
  

Other Qualifications:

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 
• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• 4+ years People management experience.
• Exposure to datapath technologies / layers such as DPDK, Classical NICs, SmartNICs, virtual Switch, networking protocols.
• Technical skills in Driving Design and Architecture with cross product and services dependencies.
