GenAI is developing cutting-edge AI technologies for content creation, productivity, and social media. We're seeking a Research Scientist to join our media foundation modeling team. You'll work with researchers, engineers, and data scientists to design solutions in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include developing input architectures combining vision and language, designing interactive experiences, prototyping data collection systems, collaborating across teams to develop concepts that advance the entire product pipeline. You'll be working on advanced computer vision and machine learning projects.
Must have:
- PhD in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Experience with sequence modeling, domain adaptation, or representation disentanglement
- Experience designing data collection protocols and quality control
- Technical knowledge of machine learning, optimization, Bayesian statistics, and state estimation
Good to have:
- Research experience in end-to-end speech recognition or real-time statistical text decoding
- Experience transferring technology from research in computer vision, machine perception, or machine learning into a shipping product
- Experience with joint hardware-software development and associated rapid prototyping
- Demonstrated software engineer experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories
- Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences
- Experience working and communicating cross-functionally in a team environment

Job Details
At GenAI, we’re developing the cutting edge AI technologies that will define the future of content creation, productivity and social media. We are looking for a creative, skilled and motivated Research Scientist to join our media foundation modeling team in advancing the state-of-the-art of image and video foundation models. You will work with research scientists, software engineers and data scientists to design technical solutions in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.
Research Scientist, Computer Vision for Generative AI (PhD) Responsibilities
- Work with researchers to develop input architectures that combine vision and language.
- Design and prototype interactive experiences and evaluate them through user research.
- Design and prototype data collection systems to accelerate machine learning.
- Collaborate and work across teams to develop concepts that advance the entire product pipeline (hardware, software, data collection, machine learning, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD degree in Computer Science, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
- Experience in developing interactive solutions for computer vision, natural language processing, or computer graphics.
- Experience working with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience with sequence modeling, domain adaptation or representation disentanglement.
- Experience designing data collection protocols and quality control.
- Technical knowledge across topics including machine learning, optimization, Bayesian statistics and state estimation.
- Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Research experience in end-to-end speech recognition or real-time statistical text decoding.
- Experience transferring technology from research in computer vision, machine perception or machine learning into a shipping product.
- Experience with joint hardware-software development and associated rapid prototyping.
- Demonstrated software engineer experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories (e.g. GitHub).
- Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at leading workshops or conferences such as CVPR, ECCV/ICCV, SIGGRAPH, or similar.
- Experience working and communicating cross-functionally in a team environment.

$117,000/year to $173,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
