Job Description

Tesla seeks a Project Developer, Charging to autonomously manage charging programs, including site discovery, due diligence, negotiation, and relationship management. Responsibilities include developing and managing a pipeline of new charging sites, building relationships with stakeholders (internal and external), assisting with deployment strategies and feasibility analyses, developing proposals, negotiating agreements, and working to improve customer experience and cost efficiency. The ideal candidate possesses strong commercial acumen, relationship-building skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Proven experience (2+ years) in a B2B setting like retail or real estate is required, along with excellent communication and persuasion skills. Extensive travel within the A/NZ region is expected.

What to Expect

Tesla is looking for an excellent Project Developer, that can autonomously drive Tesla’s charging programs, including discovery of new charging locations, diligence, negotiation & ongoing relationship management. The ideal candidate will tirelessly create opportunities, adapt to external factors and internal guidance, manage multiple projects, and build and nurture relationships. 

This role requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of projects and the organization. There will be opportunities for career growth based on performance and interest. 

The ideal candidate comes with strong personal drive, commercial acumen, curiosity and creativity to drive business and customer experience forward. You’re a natural people person – someone who can influence cross-functional project teams, deliver through, and motivate internal and external stakeholders. You have high standards and possess self-belief to work through ambiguity and a fast-paced dynamic environment with multiple and changing priorities. Your prior work experiences have set you up to be autonomous and hit the ground running. 

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and manage pipeline of new charging site development opportunities that will serve current and future Tesla owners 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders both external and internal 
  • Assist with deployment program strategy, location selection and feasibility analyses 
  • Develop and refine proposals with property owners, governmental bodies and other key partners; Negotiate win-win solutions and close deals 
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to improve customer experience, cost efficiency and timelines 
  • Work with internal legal counsel to draft, negotiate and close site host agreements

  • Proven track record (2+ years) of creating and nurturing strong relationships (e.g. from Retail, Real estate or equivalent B2B experience) 
  • Proven track record of developing, driving and closing business opportunities 
  • A willingness to travel extensively within the A/NZ region
