Job Description

As a Program Manager, Environmental, Health, and Safety at Google, you will lead complex EHS projects, ensuring compliance with regulations. Responsibilities include managing EHS programs, maintaining permits, monitoring KPIs, building stakeholder relationships, executing site compliance tasks, and identifying operational risks. You will work across offices and time zones, coordinating resources and keeping stakeholders informed. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field, along with 2+ years of experience in program/project management and EHS management systems. Fluency in German is preferred. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication, project management, and interpersonal skills.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
2+ years program/project management experience
EHS management systems experience
Compliance with AHJ regulations
Excellent communication & project management skills

Good to have:

German occupational safety qualification
Credentials from BCSP, NEBOSH, or equivalent
Experience communicating with AHJs
Fluency in German

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience in program or project management.
Experience in EHS management systems or managing EHS compliance with environmental programs (e.g., emissions, wastewater, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

German occupational safety professional qualification, Credentials from Board of Certified Safety Professionals, NEBOSH, or equivalent agency.
Experience communicating with AHJ’s (Federal, State, and Local Authorities) for notifications and permit conformance.
Ability to advise, coach, influence, and collaborate with employees to achieve positive EHS outcomes.
Ability to communicate in German fluently to interact with local authorities.
Excellent project management, written/verbal communication, and people skills.

Responsibilities

Manage Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs and projects to improve business operations and technical aspects.
Ensure compliance with Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) regulations, maintain permits, and monitor program Key Performance Indicators (KPI) performance.
Execute and manage site EHS compliance calendar tasks/requirements.
Build trusted relationships with program stakeholders, including managing expectations of program stakeholders and ensuring they have the insights they need to make effective decisions.
Organize and execute meetings, reports, and site plans, identify and assess operational EHS risks.
