Summary

As a Senior Technical Project Manager at PlayStation's Platform & Foundational Quality Engineering (PFQE) team, you'll work with global development and QE teams on high-value projects involving CI/DevOps and offshore testing. Responsibilities include defining project objectives, developing plans, monitoring progress, managing risks and issues, reporting to stakeholders, tailoring processes, and improving team practices. You'll need to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders and collaborate within a team, leveraging your Agile experience and project management expertise (e.g., Atlassian suite) to deliver best value. The role requires managing complex, multi-site projects, and involves international travel. A passion for using project management best practices is vital.

About SIE's Platform & Foundational Quality Engineering (PFQE) team

We are part of Foundational System & Experience Engineering (FSEE) & are transforming the experience of play through bold innovation and technical creativity, using our skills and passion to push the boundaries of what is possible and help developers build the future games for PlayStation, through our work on the PS Software Development Kit (SDK) libraries, tools, samples and other content.

Role Description

We focus on CI/DevOps, offshore test and the relationships with development teams worldwide, on multiple high value projects.

As a Senior TPM, you will work with internal development teams and QE teams from locations worldwide to define and deliver multiple projects, using your Project Management skills and experience to ensure best value. Additionally you’d be expected to push TPM best common practises or improvements within the teams you’d be working with.

What We Are Looking For

Required

  • 5+ years of experience working as a Project Manager in a related field (e.g. computer graphics, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, audio)
  • Ability to manage complex projects: high risk, high cost, high importance, high visibility, multi-organization, multi-site
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders in formal and informal contexts, including presentation skills
  • Skilled in facilitating, influencing, and negotiating
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a team and proactively on your own
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience with Agile practices, e.g., Scrum
  • Experience with commonly used Project Management tools, e.g., Atlassian suite
  • Passionate about using Project Management practices to deliver best value for the organisation
  • As the role is global, some international travel may be required as well as a flexible approach to working hours

Desired

  • Project Management qualifications, e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP, APM, PRINCE2, CSM
  • Knowledge or experience of scripting/programming languages such as Python/C++
  • Understanding of technologies used in building games and game platforms
  • Able to quickly acquire high level understanding of new technologies
  • Previous experience of managing relationships with third party vendors (such as data providers)
  • Previous experience working with teams across multiple regions
  • Japanese language Experience or knowledge
