About the role


We are looking for a product manager for our Home Energy Management product. The Enphase HEMS offering is integrating with energy markets in many countries around the globe. We are optimizing our PV systems, Batteries, electric vehicle charging, heat pumps and intelligent appliances using AI-powered optimization models.


The Product Manager will work with our customers, sales, software engineering, hardware engineering, cross-functional applications teams, and offshore product development teams to specify, develop, launch in new markets, and enhance our comprehensive Home Energy Management solution. The role will require presence in Bangalore, India. Working remotely is acceptable for 3 out of the 5 days in a week. The role will report to the Director of Product Management based in Munich, Germany and will require extensive interaction with offshore teams in USA, Europe, and New Zealand. Proficiency in English to enable productive cross-functional interaction is, therefore, a necessity.

 

What you will do:

 

Become the face of the solution for customers, the VOC (Voice of the Customer) for internal stakeholders and own the design of AI-powered IoT product solution for our Home Energy Management Systems. Be obsessed with our customers -- who they are, what their needs and pain points are, why they trust certain products and not others, etc.

  • Drive meetings with partners and utilities. Understand and document energy tariff schemes across the globe along with hardware and software interfaces to enable them to be integrated into the Enphase HEMS
  • Understand the prevalence/adoption of flexible tariffs and general solar and storage regulations in the market and work with sales & installers to recognize the business priority integrating controllable assets with electricity markets
  • Define system requirements and document customer-facing sequence of operations for new solutions
  • Guide development teams develop solutions and prioritize activities by communicating specifications and business priorities
  • Conduct periodic product backlog reviews, prioritizing with buy-in from all stakeholders, and representing business, customer, and partner impact
  • Own the end-to-end product development process, including business case definition, writing and scoping product requirements, creating feature specifications, testing and validating pre-release product, and more
  • Define, track, and analyze metrics and measures for product performance
  • Develop product-related content in support of sales and account management teams
  • Conduct competitive assessments and understand what other HEMS are offering in the market or developing
  • Manage relationships with partners (utilities, grid operators, large installers, etc.)

 

Who you are and what you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline like Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics is required
  • Either a masters in an engineering discipline or an MBA from a reputed institution is good to have
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in a Product Management or Software Development role or an equivalent functional leadership role in product development is required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Natural peer and team leadership skills
  • Desire to work in a highly visible and critical role
  • Ability and willingness to work with offshore teams
  • Prior experience in battery storage, EV, PV inverter, IoT products or power engineering domains
  • Experience in a company that offers energy management solutions with an understanding of the business processes involved is a huge bonus
