Job Description

Tesla seeks a Field Process Engineer for its Energy & Charging service team. Responsibilities include improving fleet performance and serviceability, leading field service training, troubleshooting complex issues with charging systems, providing on-site support for major updates/emergencies, identifying root causes of maintenance challenges, collecting feedback for process improvements, and collaborating with various internal teams. The role requires expertise in electrical engineering (low/medium voltage systems), strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Up to 50% travel within the EMEA region is expected.

What to Expect
Tesla is looking for a motivated Field Process Engineer to join our dynamic Energy & Charging service team. As a member of the team, you will help maintain the fleet to ensure excellent customer experience and best-in-class availability. You must have a passion for technology and solving challenges that will change the world’s Energy and EV Charging infrastructure. As a Field Service Support Engineer, you’ll organize, prioritize, and track multiple O&M projects, collaborating with engineering, deployment, training, and IT teams to enhance processes. You'll also support technicians with troubleshooting, remote diagnostics, and on-site assistance during major updates or emergencies.
What You’ll Do
  • Identify internal process improvement areas to enhance fleet performance and serviceability and lead change initiatives across business processes, fostering growth and continuous improvement.
  • Lead Field service training initiatives, documentation, and product knowledge databases.
  • Apply out of the box thinking, problem-solving abilities and infrastructure maintenance experience to solve complicated problems
  • Identify root causes to complex maintenance challenges and provide support to field service technicians remotely to solve complex issues and restoration of charging systems.
  • Provide on-site support for complex jobs that require expert knowledge of troubleshooting and lead efforts during major emergency situations.
  • Collect feedback from Field Service team on issues and processes that require improvements and liaise with engineering, design and quality team
  • Act as a trusted partner and problem solver for local leadership, providing guidance on service improvements
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience in the field of electrical engineering and know how’s of working with Low and Medium voltage systems
  • Demonstrated success in complex problem solving and the ability to deal with ambiguity with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to use data and metrics for making assumptions and decisions
  • Excellent organizational skills with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness
  • Proponent for continuous improvements (Process, product, technology)
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Exceptional communications, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working across and successfully influencing multiple internal stakeholders (supply chain, finance, engineering, training, etc.)
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time within the EMEA region to support service operations
