Engineering Technician, Cell Abuse Testing

Tesla seeks a highly driven Engineering Technician for their Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg for a one-year fixed-term contract. The role involves validating lithium-ion cell and battery safety performance through testing, executing tests to evaluate performance and validate requirements. Responsibilities include performing cell and battery tests using various equipment (cyclers, temperature control fixtures, environmental chambers, data loggers), summarizing results in test reports, performing destructive analysis, working with hazardous materials, collaborating with external stakeholders, and potentially building/commissioning testing equipment. The ideal candidate possesses experience with cell/battery testing equipment and data processing software (MATLAB/Python, SQL a plus) and a background in relevant engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, chemical, etc.). Experience with safety failures, fire/burn testing, and hazardous material handling is highly valued.
