Electrical Engineer
Job Summary
Job Description
Valve is seeking experienced Electrical Engineers to contribute to the design and production of world-class gaming hardware such as the Steam Deck, Valve Index, and Steam Controller. Responsibilities include collaborating on product goals, designing and evaluating novel hardware, working closely with contract manufacturers, and ensuring high-volume production. Candidates should possess strong skills in CAD/EDA tools (Altium preferred), electronics prototyping, embedded systems, and design for manufacturing and test (DFM/DFT). Experience with high-volume consumer electronics is essential.
Must have:
- Proven design skills with Altium Designer
- Hands-on prototyping experience
- Strong lab skills & test equipment use
- Embedded systems & digital communication interfaces (USB, SPI, I2C)
- Experience with manufacturing partners
- High-volume consumer electronics design experience
- DFM/DFT experience
Good to have:
- Analog circuit design and simulation
- Low-power design
- RF/wireless circuit design
- Firmware development
- High-speed board design
- DSP
- High-speed video interfaces
- Regulatory compliance testing
- C/C++ software development
- Test automation
- FPGA/ASIC design
