Summary

The Data & Insights Consultant at Visa's Global Business Optimization team will leverage big data and analytics to deliver actionable insights for clients (issuing banks, acquirers, merchants). Responsibilities include market intelligence assessment, client-facing projects focused on authorization performance optimization in the CEMEA region, building a single source of truth for authorization insights, developing forecasting models, and creating executive-level reporting dashboards. This role requires strong analytical skills, experience with big data tools (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, SQL), data visualization (Tableau), and excellent communication skills to present complex data to diverse audiences. The position is hybrid, requiring a combination of remote and office work.

The Global Business Optimization team has a simple mission: we turn massive amounts of data into actionable insights that drive business value. Our analytic consultants and data analysts work with Visa’s clients and staff to improve portfolio performance, program profitability and cardholder experiences.  By coupling in-depth analysis of cardholder behavior with Visa’s world-class products, digital offerings and marketing capabilities, we ensure our clients’ programs operate at their peak potential and that cardholders have seamless commerce experiences in both the physical and digital world. 

As part of the Client Services organization, this role will take ownership of this vision and deliver with excellence for our organization and our clients.  The successful candidate will use strong big data and analytical skills, contextual business sense and a creative flair to solve real world business challenges for Visa issuing banks, acquirers and merchants. In addition, your analytic expertise will directly impact the strategic direction of the organization and how we deliver value from our data assets.

The Consultant will be a key member in Global Business Optimization, within Client Services, supporting auth improvement activities based in Dubai responsible for building and deploying a single source of truth on insights, facts, and reporting related to the Visa CEMEA Region.

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • Collaborate and assess market intelligence and research needs across key corridors and markets. Contribute towards the development of strategy to procure and generate market level intelligence to support and inform auth improvement initiatives.

  • Lead on client facing initiatives and consulting projects with the objective of producing actionable insights in order to optimize authorization performance in CEMEA by utilising SME knowledge in the Auth space in support of the scorecard.

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to manage existing solutions and work towards producing ready-to-consume insight packages for corridor-, market-, and region-level leaders including developing an “automated” process to populate insight templates with self-serve functionality. Focused on insight delivery.

  • Coordinate with existing internally focused reporting teams to deploy a single source of truth on authorizations. This includes, align on a common set of reports, definitions, and data sources across markets and stakeholders.

  • Build and deploy capability to generate forward-looking view of opportunities, develop the hypothesis of key leading indicators of auth trends, gather data and conduct analysis to isolate the key leading indicators of opportunity, develop and deploy the model to continuously track and report on the leading indicators.

  • Lead management reporting dashboards & scorecards and establish cadence of reporting across different exec stakeholders to support auth improvement campaigns.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

What we’re after…
• SME knowledge of Auth highly preferrable.
• Extensive experience working in data analysis and or insight delivery.
• Top team working skills and great mentoring attitude.
• Degree in a quantitative field, advanced quantitative or business degree is a plus
• High level of proficiency manipulating data from a variety of sources - Big data skills (Hadoop, Hive, Spark) and or SQL skills required.
• Experience visualizing data with tools like Tableau, advanced Tableau skills are highly desired.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are required.
• Must be proficient in all MS Office applications with advanced Excel spreadsheet skills.
• Visa experience or knowledge of the payments industry is a big plus.
• Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work cross-functionally in a matrixed organisation, and adapt as necessary to a fast-paced work environment.
• Communication skills to take highly complex statistical output and convey facts to broad audiences.
• Advanced competence in Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau.
