As a UI Artist III at Nintendo Software Technology, you'll create exceptional user interface visual assets for digital entertainment products. Responsibilities include developing wireframe designs, creating icons, buttons, fonts, and animations, and working directly with project leads on game design visualization. You will contribute to the evolution of art development tools and techniques. This contract role requires 5+ years of professional UI art experience, with a proven track record in shipping at least 2 games. Proficiency in 2D and 3D UI art production, strong iconography skills, and understanding of UX design principles are essential. The position is hybrid, requiring regular onsite work in Redmond, WA.

As an Associate UI Artist III, you will have a passion for creating game content utilizing UI/UX Designer principals. Developing wireframe designs is also a great plus. If this sounds like you, then we’d love to see your portfolio!

  
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
  • Creates exceptional user interface visual assets for digital entertainment products that meet required direction and quality specifications.
  • Establishes and drives product-quality UI art assets, including icons, buttons, fonts, and animations.
  • Creates concepts, mockups, and prototypes for UI art.
  • Works directly with project leads to help visualize and develop game designs.
  • Supports the growth of new or enhanced art development tools and techniques
  • Utilizes and maintains proficient knowledge of required commercial and Nintendo proprietary art production tools

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS 
 
 
  • 5 or more years of professional experience in a UI artist role having shipped at least 2 games.
  • Proven artistic and technical skills in both 2D and 3D UI art production.
  • Strong iconography and 2D vector art skills.
  • Effective at studying and adapting UX design based on player behaviors and player features.
  • Understanding of interactive entertainment methodologies, production pipelines, and Nintendo franchise art quality standards.
  • Proven proficiency with commercial 2D/3D art production software (E.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Undergraduate degree in art or related field; or equivalent education and experience.
 
** This is a CONTRACT position
 
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States to be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.

This contract position has a base pay range of $43.00 - $64.00 per hour and is eligible for benefits through the employing agency. Agency benefits may include medical, dental and vision, 401(k), basic/supplemental life and AD&D insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, health and dependent care spending accounts, transportation benefits, employee assistance program, paid sick leave, and up to 6 paid holidays per year. All benefits are subject to elections, eligibility requirements, plan and program terms. Benefits offerings will be confirmed at the time of offer by the employing agency, and may differ depending on the employing agency partner.
