Job description

About Scorewarrior

We’re a game developer and publisher from Cyprus with one single game in the 4x strategy genre: Total Battle. We’re a one-game company on purpose, because in everything we do, we focus.

We are currently concentrating on two major goals:

  1. To make our game #1 in its genre.

  2. To make our company the best place to work on games.

And we’re far from there; we still have a lot of work to do.

We are looking for a passionate 2D artist who wants to create the highest performing marketing materials in the 4X genre..

Day in the life of a 2D Creative Artist

As a creative 2D artist here at Scorewarrior your goal will be to create the highest performing marketing materials in the 4X genre. You’ll spend your time focused on creating 2D ad creatives as well as localisation and slicing prom art. Working with the wider creative team, you’ll have the opportunity to design icons and screenshots for mobile stores and static banners for different networks based on new concepts, video screenshots and 3D scenes.

Job requirements

What you’ll need to do this job

This role requires someone who has a strong familiarity with advertising and game illustrations and who wants to work as part of a high-performing close-knit team to design the best marketing materials in our genre.

As such, we’re looking for:

  • Strong foundational knowledge in composition and colour theory.

  • An understanding of the specific characteristics and requirements of advertising and game illustrations.

  • Strong skills in Adobe Photoshop.

  • Some basic 3D skills including rendering basic models, setting up lighting for scenes and applying materials.

  • Experience with AI tools like Stable Diffusion and Midjourney.

  • Ability to balance speed and quality and to prioritise tasks.

  • A minimum B1 level of English is required.

The interview process

  • Step 1: Recruiter Screening Call - meet one of our recruitment team to tell you more about the role and life here at Scorewarrior and tell us more about you.
  • Step 2: Test Task - This is a short assignment to allow you to demonstrate your relevant skills and appreciation of advertising by creating reference images for mobile stores.
  • Step 3: First Interview - Meet our Creative Leads and a member of the creative team to discuss what the creative 2D artist role at Scorewarrior involves, find out more about us and allow the team to find out more about you as well.
  • Step 4: Final Interview - Meet our Creative Lead and our CMO for a final discussion about your experience and the expectations of the role here at Scorewarrior. You will work closely with our marketing and UA teams so this is a good opportunity to find out more about their work.

Why you should join us

We strongly believe we have the best team in the world, but just to prove it we’ll also offer you some fantastic benefits:

  • An excellent remuneration package, including a 13th salary.

  • Full-coverage relocation for you and your family to Cyprus (Limassol).

  • Private health insurance for you and your family members.

  • A monthly school allowance for your children at pre-school and school-age.

  • Lunch compensation.

  • Personal development opportunities paid for by the company: professional and language courses, books, etc.

  • Bonuses for outstanding results, years worked, getting married, and the birth of a child.

  • A modern and sunny office space close to the sea.

  • Friendly monthly office parties and epic, annual offsite company birthday and Christmas parties.

About The Company

Our company was founded in 2015 in Cyprus with the initial goal of publishing and operating third-party games.

In 2016 we decided that we wanted to work with our own games instead of ready-made products. We were excited by the idea of being a full-cycle game development studio: to launch a game, gain initial traction, and then scale up the game globally and become a leader in the genre.

2017 saw the arrival of our first game, Total Battle. We discovered the game in its very early stages, and we believed in its great potential, so we made it our goal to focus on this single title and become the leader in the 4X strategy genre.

In 2021, we began to transform the company into a full-cycle game development studio, adding game developers, designers, and artists to our already existing publishing team, which consisted of our finance, legal, marketing, community, and support staff. We finished this process in 2022, and we now operate from our two offices in Limassol.
