The Demand Engineering group is responsible for providing advertising platform solutions for clients around the world. Our team designs and supports many of the systems, tools, and processes that allow for the execution of online advertising campaigns in an omnichannel environment.
As part of growing our group we are looking to hire a group of stellar individuals who are keen to further their journey in the software engineering world. Our software processes over half a trillion requests every day.
The role will also require working on processes, simplifying systems, and reducing complexity of the many backend systems across our platform in order to deliver best in class customer experiences.
You are a graduate (BSc or MSc) with an interest in programming who wants to work in a high visibility role to directly impact the productivity of all of our demand engineering platforms. You like to use your engineering skills to produce practical solutions to solve problems which give our customers a competitive advantage and deliver value to both our customers and the company.
As an API/backend software engineer you will be working with product managers and other software engineers in agile teams to create our next-generation APIs and backend platforms by implementing business-critical features and setting standards that will help define the future products.
You will help us solving interesting challenges such as:
Performance optimisation of our platforms across multiple dimensions including cost, speed and data transfer
Ensuring system responsiveness, robustness and high availability of our platform delivering best in class to our customers
Improving our cloud based CI/CD pipelines to ensure constant production delivery of high-quality features
Design and create robust and reusable API components that will be used across the company
Improve our CI/CD pipeline to ensure constant production delivery of high-quality features
Improve our automated tests suite in terms of speed, accuracy and coverage while also improving developer productivity and experience
Directly impact our generated revenue by implementing critical features
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree.
A passion for software development and a desire to constantly learn and improve
Demonstrated Experience with Java
Deep understanding of Java/J2EE and other supporting back-end technologies
Experience with unit and integration testing and writing clean code
Understanding of REST APIs, OOP, and related best practices
Knowledge of architecture and design patterns and anti-patterns
Good knowledge of SQL or NOSQL databases techniques
The ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment that requires ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
An eye for constant improvement of development processes and developer productivity
Understanding of OS fundamentals, command line tools, and basic shell scripting
Good knowledge and experience with big data technologies
Experience with building robust, scalable, distributed services;
Experience of GIT and of general configuration management methodologies
Understanding of Test Driven Development
Knowledge and experience of agile methodologies
Experience with Cloud Technologies (AWS or Kubernetes desirable)
Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment to a cloud based service such as AWS
Good knowledge of event-driven and asynchronous coding in at least ES6 JavaScript
Experience with frontend frameworks such as Ember.js, React, Next.js, Angular
Experience with CSS preprocessors such as SASS, LESS, etc.
Experience with Acceptance and E2E browser testing
You may be required to work on-call to support systems and equipment outside of normal working hours on an assignment basis
