Summary

Outplay is seeking a part-time Assistant Accountant to join its finance team in Dundee. Responsibilities include assisting with monthly reconciliations, management and consolidated accounts; preparing monthly budget review files; monitoring performance against budget; assisting with payroll; preparing annual HMRC returns and Corporation Tax computations; VAT and external reporting; preparing weekly payment reports; managing accounts mailbox and purchase invoices; credit control; bank reconciliations; assisting with year-end activities; financial data analysis; and ad-hoc tasks. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar role, knowledge of accounting software (Sage preferred), strong Excel skills, and be part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, CA, or similar). The role offers flexible working hours (22.5 hours/week) and benefits including private medical/dental care, 33 days of holiday, and a bonus scheme.

We are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join our finance team, the role is well suited to either a part-qualified accountant or an experienced individual looking for a new challenge on a part-time basis.
At Outplay you will play an active role within the finance team reporting to the Financial Controller.

Desired Skills
  • Proven experience in a similar accounts support role
  • Good working knowledge of accounts functions and processes
  • Knowledge of Sage or similar cloud-based accounting software.
  • Analytical and commercially focused, coupled with a genuine interest and understanding of Outplay’s products and market sector;
  • High level of knowledge around the Microsoft suite of products particularly Microsoft excel and PowerPoint.
  • Part Qualified accountant – ACCA, CIMA, CA or similar.
  • Driven by highest standards of accuracy;
  • Driven, highly organised individual with experience of working autonomously
  • Excellent communication and time management skills;
Areas of delivery
  • Assistance with timely preparation of monthly reconciliations, management and consolidated accounts.
  • Preparation of monthly budget review files enabling discussions to identify cost saving opportunities.
  • Active involvement in monitoring performance v budget & variance reporting.
  • Assisting in the monthly payroll process.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual HMRC returns and Corporation Tax computations.
  • VAT and external reporting review and submission.
  • Preparing weekly payment reports for management and entering bank payments into the system.
  • Managing accounts mailbox processing purchase invoices and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Credit control and resolving invoice disputes with suppliers.
  • Bank account reconciliations and credit card transaction processing.
  • Assisting with month and year-end activities for accurate and timely account reconciliation.
  • Providing financial data analysis requests and supporting external audit queries
  • Performing various ad hoc accounts administration tasks as required
  • Working within a small finance team, supporting development and ensuring reporting deadlines are met.
  • Contribute ideas, solutions and energy across all of areas of output for Outplay
  • Operate in an agile manner, confidently managing regular tasks as well as bespoke projects.
Please note the hours for this role are 22.5 hours per week but with flexible work patterns available as to when the hours are worked.The role is also predominately onsite at our Dundee studio. About Us
