The Trust and Safety Policy Operations Analyst at Google Play protects user trust by ensuring online safety. Responsibilities include designing integrations between business objectives and systems, conducting strategic analysis to optimize performance, managing projects with multiple stakeholders, and conducting data-oriented analysis to influence business decisions. The role involves reviewing and managing escalations of graphic and controversial video content, aligning with community guidelines. This position requires a strong understanding of data analytics, policy, and communication skills, along with experience in SQL, data visualization, and potentially programming languages like Python. The analyst will work cross-functionally with developers and product managers to address online safety issues and combat abuse and fraud.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years experience in data analytics or related fields
  • Experience with SQL and data visualization
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Project management experience
Good to have:
  • Master's degree
  • Experience with machine learning
  • Experience in Python or other scripting languages
  • Experience building dashboards

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, or related fields.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree.
  • Education in, or experience with, machine learning.
  • Experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection/transformation, visualization/dashboards, or experience in a scripting/programming language (e.g., Python).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) and the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.

As a Trust and Safety Associate you defend the integrity of Google, its users, and partners worldwide by defining and communicating product policies, fighting spam, fraud, and abuse across Google products. You are proactive, motivated, organized, responsible, innovative--and able to work well in a fast-paced, global, cross-functional, and team-oriented environment while demonstrating technical know-how, effective communication and getting things done.

We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement integrations between business objectives and business systems, including designing and building strategies that support these business systems.
  • Conduct strategic analysis, optimize business performance, and deliver within relevant product areas. This includes analyzing data, identifying trends, and developing solutions that improve business performance.
  • Manage projects involving multiple stakeholders, tight timelines, important organizational implications, and changing circumstances.
  • Conduct data-oriented analysis, architect metrics, synthesize information, solve problems, and influence business decision-making by presenting insights and market trends.
  • Review and manage escalations from graphic and controversial video content in line with Community Guidelines and this role will be exposed to graphic, controversial, or upsetting content.
