What the Role Entails

Position Overview
As an AI Technical Project Manager for Tencent Cloud, you will lead the localization, delivery, and operation of AI solutions in the Japanese market. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, you will ensure the seamless execution of projects, driving innovation in AI applications such as computer vision and large models. This role offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and market-specific demands, requiring a deep understanding of AI, project management expertise, and strong cultural adaptability.

1. Technical Project Management

• Serve as the AI-focused technical project manager, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to implement Tencent Cloud AI solutions in Japan.
• Plan and manage the lifecycle of AI products, including ecosystem development, operations, delivery, and feedback in the Japanese market.
• Create detailed project schedules, define key milestones, monitor progress, identify risks, and ensure successful delivery.

2. Cross-Team Collaboration

• Maintain effective communication between the Japan business team and Tencent’s product and R&D teams in China.
• Manage key project stakeholders, coordinating resources across departments (e.g., sales, product, R&D, testing, and delivery) to ensure seamless project execution.
• Understand client stakeholders and organizational structures, fostering close communication to drive successful project delivery.

3. Process Optimization & Operational Support

• Continuously optimize project management processes and tools based on business requirements, leveraging analysis and metrics to improve team efficiency.
• Document and share project management experiences and methodologies to enhance overall team execution capabilities.

4. Localized Market Knowledge

• Apply expertise in Japan’s business environment, project workflows, and AI technologies (e.g., computer vision, large models) to ensure effective localization and application.
• Conduct market research and provide insights into key players, product strengths and weaknesses, and strategies for expanding AI products in Japan.

Who We Look For

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field.
• At least 3 years of experience in project management, consulting, product management, or pre-sales roles in the ICT or AI domain in the Japanese market.
• Strong understanding of AI development characteristics and project management best practices.
• Fluent in Japanese, Mandarin and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Korean is a plus.
• Deep understanding of AI technologies, particularly in areas such as computer vision and large models, and their application in business scenarios.
• Proficiency in risk management and process optimization, with a proven track record of delivering under pressure.
• Strong sense of responsibility and ownership, with a results-driven mindset and curiosity about new technologies.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills, with the ability to integrate resources across departments and projects for efficient execution.
