  • understanding of the principles of rendering in real-time and limitations on various platforms
  • confident knowledge of several visual content creation packages (3D Max, Maya, Blender, Photoshop, etc.)
  • at least one year of work experience in a similar position
  • portfolio

  • skills in writing scripts and plugins for various graphics packages

Some points on tasks:

  • organizing and maintaining the effective work of the technical art department (planning, assigning, accepting tasks)
  • forming and maintaining pipelines and requirements for the visual content being produced with regard for the planned development platforms
  • developing and formalizing the structure and rules for storing visual content and naming convention as well as keeping them up to date
  • developing unconventional visual content and systems (shader, postprocessing, light, camera, scripts for solving visual tasks)
  • supervising the performance of the project's visual side (profiling, load testing)
  • searching for and implementing solutions for optimizing the performance of the project's graphics side
  • participating in creating functional prototypes on the visual side
  • developing tools for automating content work and speeding up the art department's work
  • helping in importing and setting up complex visual content in the engine
  • organizing effective communication between the art department and client development divisions along with game designers on the issues related to the visual side of the project
  • maintaining technical documentation
