Cirrus Logic have a fantastic opportunity for a Systems Engineer/Product Definer based in our state-of-the-art Edinburgh office. As part of a highly collaborative team, you will be responsible for defining integrated circuits (ICs) and solutions by translating customer’s needs into product specifications used to guide design of the IC. This position plays a fundamental role in Cirrus Logic's Mixed-Signal business with significant scope for development. This is a key position in a lively, exciting, and dynamic environment, suited to a candidate with a growth mindset, a strong passion for learning, and a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities:

    • Drive new concept development, technical analysis, and feasibility investigations for future products.
    • Collaborate with customers, product marketing and internal engineering teams to define architecture and performance requirements for complex mixed-signal IC designs.
    • Determine and analyse architectural trade-offs and propose viable solutions.
    • Communicate sophisticated technical concepts and specifications to both internal and external audiences.
    • Be the “voice of the customer” with internal engineering teams.
    • Input to and advise on design architecture and specifications, verification and validation test plans, and customer engagement planning.
    • Participate in architecture reviews, IC-level design reviews and board-level design reviews with design, applications, validation, and product test engineers.
    • Perform competitive analysis including lab investigations.
    • Participate in industry conferences and forums to promote Cirrus products and ensure device compatibility with adopted standards.
    • Travel domestically and internationally approximately 4 – 8 weeks per year to work with customers and internal teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or equivalent), with demonstrably strong and adaptable EE skills across both analogue and digital domains.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Naturally collaborative; able to influence and solve problems across functional boundaries.
    • Strong analytical skills combined with a logical approach to problem solving.
    • Natural ability to tackle unfamiliar technical problems and learn quickly.
    • Experience in a prominent customer facing role.
    • Able to work to tight timescales – autonomously manage contending priorities and thrive in a dynamic environment.
    • Hands-on lab experience.
This position is based in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. 

This is a hybrid position and will follow a 2+ day in-office work schedule, with in-office days based on business needs and team preference. You must be based within commutable distance of the work location listed on the job posting, or willing to relocate prior to beginning employment with Cirrus Logic.
