Reporting to the Crayola Marketing Controller (CMC) to support all aspects of the Crayola brand and product range, launching product to market, developing marketing plans and executing these plans in the most cost-effective manner as well as general day to day managing of the product portfolio.

As Marketing Assistant, this role offers an amazing training opportunity, and you will be involved in all aspects of a busy marketing department. The key function of this role is to support the Crayola division in all activities ranging from helping create marketing collateral, supporting external agency relationships, involved in managing trade events as well as all administration duties. You will also have direct contact with our retail customers, agencies and work within a multi-functional department including sales, operation, RnD, graphics and the wider marketing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of the brand marketing plan, developing an understanding of key marketing drivers to ensure brand growth and identify weaknesses and opportunities.
  • To be the custodian of the brand and ensure that all elements of the brand strategy work together to maximise business results.
  • Monitor and evaluate brand performance so to recommend and execute appropriate solutions to improve effectiveness and create post activity reports.
  • Competitive research on new products, existing products, and monitoring consumer reviews. Identify new opportunities through market and category gap analysis – become true category expert.
  • Work closely with agencies to execute marketing campaigns, manage social media activities and develop new creative outputs. Attend creative development/edits under guidance from CMC.
  • Develop and present product presentations to sales and customers. Manage and update brand documentation and product line plans.
  • Manage stored product information on the company database including, images, codes, dimensions with an overall responsibility to ensure that all information is correct and up-to-date and filed appropriately.
  • Help gain Licensor approvals on product / pack / media development.
  • Under the guidance of CMC use company margins and profitability model to learn to negotiate the best prices and upkeep pricing documentation.
  • Catalogue and provide upon request imagery and copy management.
  • Ensuring Crayola UK website is up to date, working efficiently and providing analytic reports on its usage. 
  • Auditing online retailers including Amazon to ensure copy and imagery is up to date and ensuring products are being displayed in the most effective way.
  • Support all aspects of trade show planning and implementation working with CMC.
  • Involved in showroom design and upkeep eg image boards, sample ordering, and general changeover of products.
  • Hands on with PR briefing and management as well as copy writing trade press releases and catalogue text.
  • Performing store checks and helping to produce store check reports and imagery.
  • Overseeing the production and collection of prototypes and samples for customers.
  • Be a day-to-day contact for product queries and social media assistance working with social media agency and customer services.
  • Help manage social media content calendar and tracking.
  • Ad hoc projects for brand teams.

Requirements

  • 1 to 2 years’ experience gained from working in a marketing environment.
  • Able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines in fast moving marketing department.
  • Strong communication and administration skills with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work across different projects and prioritize their workload.
  • Exhibition planning and co-ordination.
  • Team player, who is flexible and will hit the ground running
