Job Description

The Student Training in Engineering Program (STEP) Internship at Google offers a comprehensive summer experience for aspiring Computer Science and Electrical and Computer Engineering students. The program comprises a software development project, skills-based training, and professional development opportunities. You'll collaborate with Googlers and other STEP Interns on a real-world project, enhance your coding skills with exposure to new tools and languages, and gain insights into the world of tech through talks by senior Googlers. You'll also receive mentorship from a Google Engineer and participate in social events for networking and community building. This internship provides a unique platform to apply your academic knowledge in a professional environment and gain valuable experience at one of the leading tech companies.

Must have:

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program
Major or intend to major in Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering
Experience in Computer Science
Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design

Good to have:

Programming experience in Java, Python, C, or C++
Ability to complete an internship program of 10-12 weeks

Minimum qualifications:

About the job

This internship is intended for students enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Computer Science or a related field. This program includes three main components: a software project, skills-based training, and professional development. This summer trainee program includes:

Software Project: A development project that you will work on with a team of Googlers and other STEP Interns.
Skills-Based Training: Enhance your coding skills, and gain exposure to new tools and programming languages.
Professional Development: Attend ongoing technical talks by senior Googlers. Additionally, learn how to enhance your resume, approach technical interviews, and improve your presentation skills.
Mentorship: Be matched with a Google Engineer, other than your manager, to guide you through your summer experience.
Fun: Engage in social activities, community building and networking. Build relationships with your peers.
Exposure: Gain a unique glimpse into applying your Computer Science studies in a professional environment.
