Marvell's Custom Compute and Storage (CCS) team develops silicon and software for some of the largest companies in the world in the growing datacenter, AI, enterprise, wireless, and automotive compute markets.

What You Can Expect
- Performance engineering serves a pivotal role in creating state-of-the-art data center infrastructure solutions and IPs that make a significant impact on Marvell’s Accelerated Compute mission.
- As a member of the Custom Solutions Performance engineering team, you will have a unique opportunity to work closely with architects and technologists to influence research and development in cutting-edge forward-looking technologies in the accelerated compute, networking, storage, and security domains, such as CXL and other emerging low-latency transport protocols, AI/ML, Post Quantum Cryptography, etc.
- You will gain a deep understanding of advanced packet handling, security, and virtualization capabilities of our SoCs and strengths of our specialized HW accelerators and use that knowledge to help create compelling solutions.
- You will get hands-on experience with real world hyperscale workloads such as Ranking and Recommendation Systems, Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, Big Data Analytics, Vector Databases, KV Caches, accelerated by a broad range of custom compute, connectivity, storage, security technologies.
- System architectural design and implementation of specific proof of concepts, involving diverse workloads for optimal execution in distributed heterogeneous memory, compute, and storage environments.
- Advanced characterization and performance analysis of complex workloads by monitoring metrics such as response times, latency, resource utilization, etc.
- Development of simulation environments of large-scale setups and configurations e.g., in the AI/ML domain.
- Close collaboration with focused teams on various tasks including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving performance issues.
- Review and improvement of existing designs, infrastructures, and processes
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 5-10 years of related professional experience OR Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields with 3-5 years of experience.
- Experience and proficiency with a subset of the following domains is required:
- Hands-on experience in performance benchmarking, system profiling and debugging, analysis and tuning
- Experience with Container frameworks like Dockers, Kubernetes, etc.
- Proficiency in python, shell scripting and experience in system C programming
- Experience with complex compute environments, high-speed Network Packet I/O and networking security
- Experience with setting up AI/ML workloads and benchmarking, MLPerf or similar, will be a plus
- Experience in networking, RDMA, NVMe will be a plus
- Familiarity with network security software, specifically Firewalls, IPSec, TLS, IPS, etc.
- Understanding of operating system concepts like DMA, interrupts, processes & threads, memory management, cache management, synchronization, etc.
- High energy, positive attitude, with propensity to learn and explore, and flourish in a dynamic, fast moving, and creative environment.
- Very hands-on with setups, software, hardware, systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a distributed team environment.
- Self-driven, able to plan and execute tasks and projects, independently and in collaboration with other team members.
