Summary

GoFundMe seeks a Staff Content Designer to lead content design, aligning work with business goals and user needs. This key role embeds content design into the product development process from the start, shaping the discipline within the organization. Responsibilities include collaborating with various teams (product design, engineering, marketing, etc.), owning content design processes (from tooltips to user flows), developing writing style guides, and mentoring other designers and PMs to improve their UX writing skills. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in product content strategy or content design, a strong portfolio showcasing project outcomes, and experience with design systems and tools like Figma and Jira.

Join us! The GoFundMe Product Design team is looking for a full-time Staff Content Designer. This role is key to continuing to embed content design into the product development process from the start and shaping the content design discipline as a whole. This is an incredible opportunity to carry out GoFundMe’s mission by helping people help each other.

This is a hybrid role and candidates considered for this position will be located in: San Francisco, CA

The Job…

  • Lead content design and align your work with business goals, user needs, and our design system.
  • Collaborate closely with product design, product management, engineering, legal, marketing, and other writers.
  • Own content design processes, crafting everything from tooltips and microcopy to full user flows..
  • Develop and maintain writing style and usage guidance for our product experiences.
  • Champion the discipline's impact and proactively mentor designers, PMs, and more to help them improve their UX writing skills.

You…

  • Have 5+ years of experience in product content strategy or content design with a portfolio of projects showcasing goals, process, and outcomes.
  • Take initiative and prioritize workload while meeting project deadlines.
  • Think about product strategy and vision - not just what words to write, but what product we should build.
  • Give, seek, and incorporate thoughtful feedback - whether it’s about product strategy, design decisions, or word choice.
  • Clearly articulate your content recommendations and decisions to stakeholders.
  • Have experience working with a design system and using tools like Figma, Lyssna (UsabilityHub), and JIRA.

The total annual salary for this full-time position is $185,000 - $230,000 + equity + benefits.  As this is a remote position, the salary range was determined by role, level, and possible location across the US. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
